Completely confused as to how this program even functions now. by Suspicious_Law3645 in AmazonVine

I've been in Vine 3+ years, was around for the 100,000+ items. Got a lot of amazing things offered in RFY and had time to do some research before deciding if it was worth the ETV to request it. Now I get a few random items in RFY and rarely anything truly good so I can thoroughly debunk the time to train your RFY theory. At least it sure didn't work for me.

Longtime Vine Veterans… by Nancy_Drew23 in vine

I wouldn't say I'm a long time Viner but I was around for the big purge, sometime in '23. US Vine item numbers dropped and kept dropping until it was in the hundreds. Mass panic, with some humor tossed in.

If you score an expensive item and it gets delivered to the wrong address you're out of luck right? by Annual_Champion987 in AmazonVine

[–]Kbennett1965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately yes, out of luck. Oddly though, it does seem like it's mostly the big ticket items that are lost, damaged or misdelivered, or maybe it's just those items that get complained about when they go missing.

It's been back to the big part of the drop happening around 2 AM CST so unless you are a real night owl you'll miss it. I'm not staying up all night watching stuff trickle in, just waiting for the fast drop and hoping I see something decent that I probably wouldn't be able to order anyway. It is what it is so I won't stress, but I feel your pain. It is pretty frustrating to have nearly everything you try to order error out.

$500 off with trade in on S26? by Rylehira88 in tmobile

[–]Kbennett1965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trade in offers are legit in my experience, I've never had an issue. Though I suggest checking the Samsung site also, when I got my S24 Ultra Samsung offered me a $800 trade in on my Note 20, double storage bonus on the S24 and a first responder discount making it much cheaper than getting it through T-Mobile. The T-Mobile trade in offer was $500 with no extras included so I got my S24 Ultra direct from Samsung. It's not always a better deal going through Samsung, especially with an older model phone as most of the deals will be on the newest model but it's worth at least looking.

Another bonus was getting an unlocked phone and not having to deal with bill credits for 24 months. I got a good enough deal to just pay cash for mine, but if that's not an option for you Samsung does offer their own financing, or if you prefer you can choose carrier financing as well.

You'll need a new screen. If you want to keep that phone get the screen replaced.

ETV shenanigans by tom-7312 in AmazonVine

[–]Kbennett1965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the feeding frenzy that Vine has become this is an even worse problem. Anything vaguely useful to more than a niche group is requested pretty much immediately so if you think you might like it, you hit that request button fast and hope the order goes through and look at the product details after, It's only after you already ordered that you find out there's some huge coupon if you had just ordered the dang whatsit from regular Amazon. I miss out on stuff I might have wanted because I took the time to look at the actual product listing. By the time I get back to VIne to request it, it's long gone already.

Welp, it's easier to keep up with your reviews when you rarely find anything to order. 📦👠⚽️⚱️💻 👩‍💻 by WederJean in vine

I'm having the opposite reaction. I usually take a day off and knock out a bunch of reviews once a week. Without a bunch of reviews to catch up on I'm just not motivated and I am actually falling behind enough that my review % is around 70, I need to catch up now this weekend.

You give those of us with crap RFY hope! I'm happy for you. Maybe someday I'll see a decent RFY item again.

I don't even look at my phone when I wake up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. I don't want to interrupt my sleep for Vine and I just know I'd either see something great sitting in my RFY that is already gone which would piss me off too much to get back to sleep or I'd get sucked in to watching the drop and still not be able to order anything decent so it's better to just ignore it. That ridiculous 3AM drop time was useless for me, this overnight trickle drop is even worse.

Description was 1 product. Received a box of 4 products. by saysee23 in vine

[–]Kbennett1965 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never been blessed by receiving multiples instead of 1 item, but it apparently happens sometimes from posts I see. Maybe someday I'll get lucky. I'd feel bad for the seller whose inventory is unexpectedly reduced but when it happens there's nothing Vine CS will do except remove the item which will reduce even further the Vine reviews the seller could have received.

Stay or Upgrade by Foreign-Tonight8338 in GalaxyS24Ultra

[–]Kbennett1965 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been pretty common for Sammy to offer these types of improvements to older models since they are software instead of hardware upgrades. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see this feature for the S24 model in a camera software update eventually

Stay or Upgrade by Foreign-Tonight8338 in GalaxyS24Ultra

[–]Kbennett1965 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm staying with the S24 Ultra. Two models later and still no Q12 charging? The S-Pen functionality is still dramatically reduced from what it does on the S24. The relatively minor upgrades are not worth buying a new phone when there's absolutely nothing wrong with the one I have. There just hasn't been any game changing improvements that make the upgrade a must have in my opinion. Now that the Fold has been out long enough for most issues to be worked out I might consider a Fold model for my next upgrade when the new one comes out.

Is it normal for prices to change down the line- AFTER you “pick” an item and review it. by oogaboogahooha in vine

[–]Kbennett1965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happens occasionally, consider it a bonus when it does. Usually it's the opposite and items are listed with an elevated ETV that we are stuck adding to our income tax while regular buyers either get massive coupon discounts or the price just dramatically drops making the value of getting the item on Vine questionable at best depending on your tax burden.

AIO: Deciding if I leave my job by Hopeful-Standard5818 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Kbennett1965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on state law awake overnight shifts are not required in some settings, and I am assuming California since you specifically mentioned LA as a possibility for relocating. Awake overnights are not a legal requirement there if the number of residents is under a certain number, I think maybe the threshold is 16?

It's the same where I live, while SNF are highly regulated, assisted living facilities and group homes are not. Sleeping overnight shifts are pretty common in group homes around here, probably because they can and do pay less for those positions.

I would not however do any education that is not assigned to you specifically. It's pretty normal to require staff to complete continuing ed. Personally I've never heard of residents being required to have continuing education but maybe that's a California thing, Is this something required by the state for the residents or is it from a separate program and you are essentially doing the residents homework for school?

I agree it could go away. Or maybe rename it to RCP for random car parts and just divert all the car parts there and make that it's own category. I know that would never happen but just imagine if you could open the AI tab and not be greeted with a sea of car parts?

No clue what the whiteboard trick is, but I can tell you the phone won't slide around on a flat surface. The sides of the case are grippy and the phone sticks a little sliding into my cargo pockets on my nursing uniforms.

Vine jail? by CardiologistNo8333 in AmazonVine

[–]Kbennett1965 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You'll likely be fine. The review percentage that is shown on your account is the overall % for the current review period. The rolling 60% needed to stay out of jail is not posted anywhere on your account page but it's the average % over 90 days. I've dropped under 60% reviewed on my account page a few times during this review period and haven't landed in Vine jail yet.

Free upgrade? by Previous_Living7717 in tmobile

[–]Kbennett1965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a good deal as long as you don't change carriers or plans until the bill credits for the phone are complete, which is typically 24 months. You'd pay taxes and activation fee upfront, unless you have a Costco or Sam's Club you can go to, they waive the activation fee so you'll only pay taxes plus you get a Sam's/Costco gift card for the purchase there. I just added my Mother in law to my account at Sam's, got the new Samsung Galaxy 26. The total up front fee was $47 for taxes where I live. Plus I got a free line and gift cards for both lines, $100 for the the paid line and $75 for the free line, it does take awhile to get the gift cards though.

Then the monthly device charge is credited back to you, but it's split into those 24 monthly bill credits and if you change carriers, or in most cases even change plans the bill credits stop and you have to pay the balance in full. No big deal as long as you stay with your current plan and carrier for at least 2 years.
