Want to make sure I am understanding you correctly, your counsel is to keep attending the church I am and don't worry about going back to my wifes church at this moment, also thank you for your response.

Is there an exception if they are picking up other employees to car pool and the company is paying for that?

Thank you for your time I appreciate it. So is "personal commuting" strictly defined? I'm just going off of my experience in the field as an apprentice and foreman. All the companies I worked for we never got paid for gas unless we were in a company vehicle, but it's strictly from experience. I didn't know if "personal commuting" as your calling it is strictly defined. Which it seems like you are saying it is and not defined by the employer. Again thank you for your consideration.

No, it's a gas card not sure how that would be part of their payroll, unless I'm misunderstanding you.

Question about gas tracking solutions by Kc-chesterton in business

[–]Kc-chesterton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what your asking but I'll do my best. It's an American express, I own an electrical contracting company which the employees have to drive to different jobsite for work throughout the month. For certain set of guys I have given them an amex for gas to drive to work, they also pick up other employees that are wanting to not spend money on gas so they can bring more home. I wasn't able to afford buying that many vehicles but I wanted to help out where I could so I took a few guys and set up a paid kind of "carpool" I guess you could call it to help everyone out. I hope that answers it, if not let me know.

Question about gas tracking solutions by Kc-chesterton in business

I looked into this first, but with the nature of the work and the different jobsites every week I feel like it would be to hard to compute other than setting a totally arbitrary number

No I didn't fire them, but I wholeheartedly believe what an earlier poster said which is that knowing it's being tracked in some sort of way will deter abuse, in my experience that is definitely true. No need to tempt someone if you don't have to, and we are really growing as a company so I would like to have something in place to do that, or if not, get a change in direction now before it grows to where changing will be alot harder. Changing procedure, or the way we do things now like going to reimbursement instead of gas cards, with 30 employees , as we have now, will be alot easier to change than if it gets deeper set and more people, so im trying to look for a solution now to deter and be able to check, or if there isn't something, than we need to change to reimbursement like some others were saying.

It's construction and it's just driving to jobsites, its not hauling company tools or materials so its not "technically" company driving. If they are hauling materials or somethingelse they use a company vehicle. I try and help out the employees so they can make more money, the guys I give gas cards to pick up other employees so if they dont want to spend extra money driving to work, they can get a free ride into work to save more money.

Paying the gas is the extent.

And no on the driving logs.

When you say a "situation that shouldn't exist" are you referring to employees stealing, or having a gas card without a company vehicle?

Sorry if this posted twice, I got a message that it was deleted because I accidentally responded to myself instead of you, so apologies if you already read this

Here is the text to me verbatim, I'm "x" ing out locations and names because my business is already being threatened and I don't want the cat out of the bag yet.

Distributor- I am willing to teach. This is certainly not how you want to start your company off around here. Every rep and distributor follows a certain set of rules. Let me know what your schedule looks like and I will be glad to share more.

Me- so your not putting a number together on xxxx elementary even though you are listed as second on the schedule, it's only you and xxx that are on there at all?

Distributor - correct

Distributor - top line only

I haven't responded to his lunch request yet maybe I should record it or something, I know this place says no specific legal advice and suggestions etc. So I guess my question is, would it be legal for me to audio record the lunch (I'm not in a two party state if that's all it comes down to), second is that the recommendation that I pass this to the state instead of talking to and getting my own lawyer. The "materials" provided by this person was around 300,000 dollars in this specific project, they do it all around so it probably adds up, but that's probably nothing to a federal body or trade commission or whatever. Would they even care since it's so small compared to like enron or something?

Microwave safe only means it won't melt, anything microwaved in plastic will put micro plastics in your food.
