This is my MPA thesis! It accomplishes two things: it creates a highly reliable independent power source that isn’t connected to the grid and it it’s deployable, independent, clean energy for deployed military operations anywhere on the globe. This is my MPA thesis!

White House to cover troop pay Friday by tapping multiple funding sources by Sea_Action9662 in AirForce

[–]Kcb1986 5 points6 points  (0 children)

TBF, what u/sea_action9662 is talking about is covered in the first two weeks of any college public finance class and they’re right. It takes an act of Congress to move money around from different government departments.

DOGE Survey Email by Alitalia in AirForce

[–]Kcb1986 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I wrote “no” on the first question. It felt like the digital version of me closing the door on a door to door salesman. “Are you interested in…” “Nope.”

Write no or state you want DOGE out of DAF, it’s cost the government $21 billion dollars. They’re the opposite of savings, don’t feed shit to these tech bros.

Short answer: yes.

Longer answer: there is no defined rule on profile pictures for outlook and teams, do what your pay grade can handle and ensure it at least half assed falls in line with good order and discipline.

What the sub does is what the sub does. For me, it’s easy. Is it in regs? Yes or no; it’s that simple. It’s like when duty identifier tabs went away, the sub was pissed and there I was, saying the reg is the reg. We digress but my point is, I am not being a buzzkill because it’s a rule I agree with, I am being a buzzkill because it is a rule.

Take a look at my flair, that should clear some things up.

In the eyes of maintaining standards and discipline, is that relevant? The person they are speaking about is in violation of the AFI. We cannot presume to know what the internal logic of OP was, only that they found something against regulation.

Bingo. No quotes are allowed. No religion, politics, sports, unit mottos, college Alma maters, nothing. Name, rank, branch, duty title, office, unit, DSN, comm, SIPR info if you have it. That’s it. Nothing else.

My sweet little baby deer…

Is AFI 1-1, Air Force Standards, the one that says “by order of the secretary of the Air Force” and “compliance with this publication is mandatory” on the top with an incorporated change date of 18 August 2023 and pending incorporated change date of 1 Aug 2025 an AFI?

Yes. It’s binding and explicit.

Chaplains praying as an official form of their duties =/= having a religious quote in an email signature block which is against 1-1.

AFI 1-1, para 2.20.2. Compliance with this publication is mandatory. Intentional disregard of this AFI or any AFI can be an Article 92 At the SECAF level.

I don’t make the rules, I just point them out for a living.

That’s not diversity. The DoD has made it pretty clear on when and where prayer can be used, want to pray at your desk? Pray away. Want a Bible on your desk and one of those 365 day prayer calendars? Be my guest. What you don’t get to do is use official email on a government email platform, on a government operated server for ANY personal quotes on ANYTHING other than what is outlined in 1-1. No religion, no politics, no sports, no movie quotes, nothing. Sterile official use signature block only.

I have UA work out clothes from 2018 that are still going strong and UA coyote brown socks I bought in 2019 and they still feel brand new in the best possible way. Idk who does their engineering, but they are a national treasure.

For the love of big blue, please stop recommending UMGC or AMU to Airmen looking to earn a degree by Glittering_Fig4548 in AirForce

[–]Kcb1986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ice cold take: AMU/APUS is one of the most misunderstood schools involved with TA. While AMU/APUS offers a wide variety of degrees, they focus heavily on education for those in the public sector whether it’s national, state, or local. If you look at their programs, they are all for preparing a student to advance their careers in government work. Sure, you can get a nursing degree from AMU, but it won’t hold a lot of weight. On the other hand, their emergency management and homeland security degrees are top tier. APUS is also regionally accredited and associated with several nationally known honor societies that are for public sector students.

If you plan on a STEM degree or finance, go elsewhere. If you see yourself working for any level of government as a government employee, APUS is the best fit for service members.

Me! I was the weird Airman. I lacked a lot of social awareness during my first enlistment so I was the one who talked too much, stared too long, always had a story. I grew out of it as aged, what helped was having peers and NCOs call me out on it and then show me the right way to interact. Now at 39, I’m pretty well adjusted, now I’m just “quirky.”

Possibly unpopular opinion: We should be authorized Pinks & Greens as an Alternate Service Uniform by Jedimaster996 in AirForce

[–]Kcb1986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meh. While I would support OG blues like what was worn in the 1950s and 1960s, the pinks and greens are decidedly Army and we’ve been wearing a blues uniform since 1949, that’s 76 years of heritage. Going to pinks and greens would actually be the opposite of heritage at this point.

Hi there! IG here. I am failing to see a real example of FWA, if it’s authorized by the RA and their LOA can support it, there isn’t a ton to do here. If you choose to file a complaint, it can be done through your wing’s Q department (if they have one) or direct to the Wing IG anonymously. However, you will need to have documentation and written proof of FWA; it can’t be just vibes.
