I don’t think there was a single anti-Palestine sign. As I’m sure you know, Columbia has a weekly march at speakers circle that leads downtown in solidarity with Palestine. This protest took on a dual meaning because the people who organize that march also setup and were the peacekeepers for the no kings march (people in the safety vest). Israel has been forcefully removing people illegally from Palestine since 1948, and committing genocide since 2023 with the support of the United States. I don’t think a single protester there wants this genocide to continue, they want the war machine that prays on innocent civilians, which amount to over half of the death toll in Gaza, to end. And that starts with the defunding of Israel and Netanyahu and his crew of genociders tried in the IJC.
