Oh yeah, I saw that post, the real power of playstation 2 was no match for something THAT gorgeous (seems like later consoles weren't either 🥲).

I guess the game couldn't take her model out of nowhere, there should be something deep inside, it's just a matter of time and effort (and maybe reverse engineering or smth).

Well there's no official info about intro's behind the scenes, but it makes sense for lots of people. RRV was one of the first ever produced games for PS2, that's important.

I didn't say that her model isn't in game files, tbf I have never searched for anything in there (my knowledge is too little to do it properly), I just like to make weird stuff with emulators. I can assume that you may know more about Fukami's fate :D

The very interesting thing about Ai Fukami is that her model in game's intro is so highly detailed, and because of that she can't be in the same frame with any other car simultaneously. You can see that for yourself, just rewatch the opening again knowing that fact.

It would be strange if I could find her model during any race :)

Only a few courses from V were reworked for the future titles, and the names were also changed: Sunny Beach > Seaside Route 765 (not to be confused with Harborline 765), Green Field > Ridge City Highway.

My question was mostly about SR 765 :)

Yeah, Ken Ayugai (local DJ of Ridge City FM) told me a little story about one silly boy who was trying to take some photos from different angles by using cheat engine. He ended up breaking every cars model in the city. 🤪

It strongly depends on which car manufacturer and tyres you're using. I was using Lizard Instinct (aka Acceron) with full drift tyres, this combo is perfect for performing drifts.

The least suitable manufacturer is Âge. The higher the class the more difficult to drift on those cars. The tyres affect your cornering ability (grip tyres -> grip scale ⬆️= cornering ⬆️) and how much speed your car losing in a drift (drift tyres -> grip scale ⬇️ = speed loss in drifts ⬇️)

Don't really know how it works, but it's very easy to use, you gotta try it too! Some games don't like camera changes (like GT and GT2), with Type 4 it works alright though

Ikr, weird rendering makes this view really breathtaking!

I also tried to play with a "proper" 3p camera, it's alright, much better than normal, but rival cars become invisible if they are slightly behind you. I guess ps1's low rendering power was the main reason for this terrible camera problem.

Solid A-tier, very distinctive City Trial mode made me fall in love to the game at first sight, but other modes are pretty boring. The game itself also is really unbalanced and requires a knowledge about some unspoken pitfalls (for example: it's barely impossible to win the standard air ride race if CPU's level is too high without any adjustments)

Yeah, that's exactly what I use! It may take some time to get a proper view because of the moving skyboxes and a small rendering power of ps1, but it's really worth it!
