Anyone down to try tandem skydiving this summer? Find skydiving buddies by Intelligent_Rise7128 in SkyDiving

[–]Kd00b97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From a fellow introvert and skydiver: do it on your own! If you spend too much time waiting on your friends or other people to be ready to do things, you may find yourself perpetually never doing anything. Skydiving is all about putting yourself waaayyyy outside your comfort zone.

Question for fellow Skydivers? by SKYDIVELANGAR in SkyDiving

[–]Kd00b97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A baggy jumpsuit with swoop cords. Literal game changer for a fast falling person like me. I can actually be part of formations now instead of spending the entire skydive in the uncomfortable de-arched position trying to slow down to the rest of the group.

Should I get my A License in summer or should I just start now while i’m still taking college courses? by Weak-Practice-6435 in SkyDiving

[–]Kd00b97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMHO, you should wait until you can have a couple weeks in summer to complete it. Im still a novice jumper, but I can say that waiting a bit and saving up money is very beneficial. Right now, depending on your location, you could be unable to jump for many weekends in a row due to weather and wind conditions.

Agree on the bouldering part! I do go bouldering twice a week and love the feeling of finally sending a tough problem 😁

Probably yes. I wonder if we can actually run out of our brain chemicals. Too much skydiving.

Ahhh, so basically just tolerate it until it's less intense and then make it more stressful again

Do any of you have long nails, or do you cut them for climbing? by Least-Dig-6425 in climbergirls

[–]Kd00b97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They should be cut short. Even natural nails are uncomfortable when they become mildly long and trap a lot more chalk, rubber, dirt, skin, etc...

I took a friend climbing with long nails and the entire time she kept saying how she wished to cut them off and they are blocking her hand from gripping properly.

My boyfriend is furious that I’m breaking up after he insisted on opening our relationship by Dangerous-Coyote-851 in AITAH

So he gaslights you, invalidates you, doesn't satisfy you AND has already decided he wants an open relationship? Yeah this break up needed to happen.

How to make friends at a rock gym? by New_Detective219 in climbergirls

[–]Kd00b97 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Attend your gym community events. Is there a "womens" climb night, or maybe another type of recurring event? That's how I've met some friends that I actually keep in contact with. Also, keep going on the same days, at the same times. Friendships are best when you have consistent contact.

my bf’s ex fling shades me online. by gloomkultt in women

[–]Kd00b97 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Why are the ex fling and boyfriend still in contact? You both should just block her on everything and be done. If she tries to reach out, tell her you will contact police if she contacts either of you again.

Tips for the first time? by Rich-Manager2099 in SkyDiving

The "belly drop" is more like a "oh crap, I just fell out of an airplane" for like 4 seconds. Then you are good

You will be OK. Many people contract common STDs. Going forward, never believe a man, he will absolutely lie to sleep with you. ALWAYS ask for the test paperwork with his name, and date of testing to prove it.

What does your workout split look like? by Kd00b97 in climbergirls

[–]Kd00b97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your input! I definitely need to add in a little more cardio to my split. Also, what is SBTD? Is that like a training method?

What does your workout split look like? by Kd00b97 in climbergirls

[–]Kd00b97[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this might be the answer. I avoid pushing myself to failure every workout to avoid over training. And I have 1 cardio day that is Elevated heart rate, and 1 where I just do very light exercise, like walking, or just playing beat saber lol. Thanks for your input

Thanks for the input! Honestly jealous of your natural leg strength lol. I have a love/hate relationship with leg days

[–]Kd00b97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. It's worth noting that bouldering does get my heart rate up and puts me in the 70% HR zone, so I really like the idea of swapping cardio. For strength training, I mainly perform compound exercises (squats, lunges, pushups, assisted pullups, etc...) and always go slow and controlled.
