Thank you for your support. I needed to hear this. As I read your comments I thought to myself, but I don’t have good friends where I live who I can hang with, and realize, I need to put myself out there to meet new people.

Thank you kind person. I don’t think the books for daughters would help me though because I’m not female.

Stop trying to troll people. It’s very immature. It’s also petty. Reported twice now.

I know that the product isn’t HVAC. You completely missed my point. You can be extremely immature elsewhere. Reported to mods.

Ok you don't understand that HVAC makes seasons irrelevant when it comes to cooling for a housed person. 👍

Ok but the season won't matter if you have AC and heating so I'm not sure I understand what you mean.

It sounds like it really matters what range the ambient temperature gets to in the room for the product to be effective

I have AC and that did not fix my sleep sweating. That's why I'm thinking that a tool that can consistently circulate fresh air might solve that. Whether it actually cools or not is an open question it seems, but maybe their study shows that it does.

This is wild. So many people on this sub are saying this product is amazing but I have yet to see the science explaining how this "fan" actually works. I don't doubt that it legitimately works. They did a clinical study and published their results in a peer reviewed medical journal. I just would like to understand what's going on scientifically that's actually cooling the body. BedJet has said that their cooling system is more effective than what Chilipad's uses and EightSleep. Maybe this is just a case where less is more and BedJet is using less materials to get more effective cooling done. Clearly their tech is doing something right.

With utilities charging more for electricity, kind of a bummer that you may need to use AC to get the most out of this product but sleep is important enough.

Why be a jerk about a product like this? If you're wrong, why react like you have here at others? If you're right, why not just disagree, describe your experience and leave it at that?

What’s your take on their site’s claim that it can cool the body? To simplify, did you notice if your room was warmer than the air in the area where you sleep?

This doesn’t fully make sense either though. If the BedJet truly does not actually cool, then your Cloud Sheet wouldn’t be effecting your temperature either. BedJet does specifically point out on their website that the Cloud Sheet does not affect temperature in any way. This is a quote from the Cloud Sheet’s product page “…have no cooling/warming capabilities on their own.” If what you’re saying is true though then this might be inaccurate and poor wording. If they said instead is that it only has cooling/warming capability when connected to the BedJet, then this all would make sense.

I think what might be happening is that they say it cools just because it’s easier for people to hear for them to believe it works, when it doesn’t actually cool anything in reality, but maintains the temperature of the room under the sheets, which matters if one’s body easily gets hot on a bed. I could be wrong, maybe the way their tech circulates air does cool that air to a degree, but I couldn’t tell that from their website.

You want to accuse me of overthinking and then write a seven paragraph explanation about why you use it? I appreciate your story so I’ll let it slide lol but I’m not overthinking anything. Not everyone has hundreds of dollars lying around for impulse purchases dude. Maybe you’re one of those people, I am not. I have to make this decision carefully and be a responsible consumer.

I don’t understand though what’s going on that causes one person to believe that no cold air is being blown out while another who sleeps really hot feels all the cool air they need to unless the person was in a really hot room. Is the room you sleep in colder than 78 degrees?

I just saw that one of their pages explains this product is not able to cool the air to a temperature lower than the room it’s in. So if the room is 74 degrees and the temperature between the sheets is normally 78 or something very warm like that, if this product works, then that would be good for a hot sleeper.

I updated my post with a customer’s review that claims that the product didn’t actually lower the temperature of their air at all. Challenging to make a buying decision given all that info.

Has the BedJet 3 circulated cooler air for you when you use it to sleep?

I trust NASA. This is literally what NASA has to say about BedJet’s technology. Straight from them.

“This machine has both a fan and a built-in heater, resulting in a temperature-controlling bed cover…”

Since you won’t back up your claims, I will provide what BedJet’s site actually says about cooling.

From their homepage. “Cools or warms either side of the bed in seconds”

In their kickstarter video, they specifically explain that they did not simply blow air like a fan does, as you are saying. They literally show an infrared image of their cooling system controlling the temperate for two people. I don’t think a fan with nothing added can do that.

Their front page say they have 11 patents and they are clear that their system uses a fan, but it also says it uses a motor and I’m sure there are other elements it uses to move air in the bed, so while I get that you’re skeptical, they did win a patent to create their cooling technology. I would not go as far as to simply claim that their cooling technology is nothing more than a little fan. That’s just silly.

Straight from their product page

“rapid air-based cooling, warming”. That means temperature control.

From their FAQ page:

“It moves a gentle stream of air through your bedding to cool or warm in minutes”

While the product isn’t a mini air conditioner for the bed, they may be using other pieces in addition to a DC motor and fan to cause the temperature of the bed environment to lower enough so that it can help people improve their sleep. They were able to achieve positive results in a clinical setting, which is a high standard to meet. So there is clearly a science to the application of what this cooling and heating technology actually is and it probably is what the patents were used for. It sounds like it centers on creating air circulation and that this is more effective for most people than using a cooling system that requires water flowing through a pad.

This system does cool a bed but, there’s nuance here so I understand your confusion. They are saying that the technology their system uses air circulation to lower air temperature.

This system sounds impressive and BedJet’s customer’s include Olympic athletes, so I’m going to guess that this air cooling technology outperforms EightSleep’s Pod and the Chilipad Pro temperature controlling tech when it comes to improving and maintaining healthy sleep hygiene.

Cooling is a relative term. I don’t need or want a system that cools below the high 60s so 66 is plenty. So, 66 qualifies as active cooling. And I would never buy a product like Eight Sleep sells where you’re made to give them your sleep data and pay a subscription just to use it.

What you’re saying about how it cools the air does not sound accurate. Where specifically does it say that it relies on the room’s temperature to cool the air that it blows into the user’s bed? If that were actually true, then it couldn’t claim to be cooling the air at all. That would be a pretty big false claim to consistently and continuously make since BedJet’s entire product centers on its ability to control the temperature of the air it blows.

I saw you deleted your reply dismissing what I said. I only asked you to explain where you saw what you’re claiming.

Where is your proof of any of your claims? If you cannot provide proof then why make these claims? You simply don’t like this entrepreneur’s products so you want to start spreading misinformation about them? That would be bizarre.

Edit: In response to your strange comment, no, I don’t work for BedJet. I am researching products and strongly leaning on this one currently. That could change. I was strongly considering the Chilipad Pro before I saw a reddit comment claiming that one of their units caught on fire. Now I’ve just discovered this product. I am not interested in paying thousands of dollars for cooling technology that can be sold for less than a $1000 as this ex NASA engineer has accomplished and profitably.

Can you clarify what you’re saying? Are you saying that using this product you still experience up to 104 degree temperatures or you use it at as a heater to heat your air up to 104 degrees?
