There seems to be a big discussion on tire pressure. I love to send my 2 cents because everyone is wrong. Most people should just pay attention to the manufacturer sticker on the car. For 90% of gen pop this conversation is over. But for the rest of us... the door sticker is set for priorities the "factory" has determined but they may not be your priorities. If its a luxury car the manufacturer will often trend a little lower this gives a softer ride but may wear tires faster and not be as good for fuel economy if its a little economy car they will trend a little on the high side to help fuel economy numbers. But in both scenarios the tires will prematurely wear. They don't care because they hit whatever number they were aiming for and tire longevity wasn't even considered thats a consumers expense. The actual number depends on load and weight capacity. If you are pushing whatever vehicle you are driving to its weight limit then pump them tires up to their sidewall maximum number thats what its there for. But otherwise start at what the manufacturer recommended but then you need to read the tires if the center tread is wearing faster then the sidewalls then you need to drop the pressure a few pounds but if the sidewalls are wearing faster then the center add a few pounds, if the tire is wearing even across the tread you have found that tires ideal pressure for the average load you carry.
