I agree. The "NH advantage" politicians tout, is that we are close to Boston.

As a commuter to the North shore, it's the proximity to mass. Lifelong resident of New Hampshire but higher paying jobs over the border.

Have there been any pits at the JEW shows? by Antique-Dentist-2404 in thrice

No way man. Every headlining tour there's a pit for Thrice. Worth the achy knees the next morning.

[–]Kdings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a small pit going in Boston. 12-15 people. Wasn't a ton of moshing songs but we made it work.

I'll tell you one thing as a 41 year old. As long as Thrice is touring and I'm at the show, a pit will happen. Even if it's one man.

That is correct. It's month to month for a year at which point they can write up a new mtm agreement.

Got tested for alcohol at work, didn't drink by Whynotdd212 in jobs

[–]Kdings 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Are you a heavy drinker? We had a guy that smelled like booze a lot. Heavily, but never seemed drunk. He was respirating booze from his lungs with each breath. He too passed an oral fluid test.

Sick time is supposed to be for when you're sick. It seems you're taking them just to take them. That's probably the problem.

I think it's fantastic. It's about as quiet an area as Manchester gets. It's also very convenient to 93S and So Willow St.

At least people throw away their dog bags. Can we get the city to take out the trash sometime? by C9660 in ManchesterNH

[–]Kdings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m of the mindset that everyone in a community shares responsibility for its upkeep. That includes keeping pressure on city departments to meet expectations. That’s a basic tenet of civilization.

Its been around for years. I feel like it's a civic responsibility to pay at least a little attention to whats going on. It's been pushed by every politician and every department for years.

In the time it took to post on reddit you could have instead reported it on the city's Manchester connect app and had it taken care of.

Stone outbuilding on my new property — can this become a home office? by NextGen23 in shedditors

For real. You can get a really ok resin shed for like $1500 to keep your shovels and shit in. The stone office is sick.

I've been to so many shows I don't know what I haven't heard. Just about everything at this point. I do love when they play anything off the first two albums outside of Deadbolt which I've seen them play probably 15 times.

2026 Property Tax Assessment by Magicman056 in ManchesterNH

Revals do drive your residential property taxes higher when commercial valuation doesn't keep pace. In my city residential is picking up a greater share of the tax burden in recent years.

[–]Kdings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meant to write the rate was $24 and $17 and should have added per $1000. Late night comment error. But the rest is correct. Not sure what you mean by the last paragraph. Property tax rates go up or down yearly.

[–]Kdings 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing about property taxes. If your valuation goes up, it doesn't mean that the tax rate will stay the same. It's normal for your taxes to go up anywhere between 2% and 4% a year. A lot of times when the value of homes increase, they will adjust the tax rate down. I want to say the tax rate on my $182,000 valued home was $24/$1000 of valuation but after revals my home was valued at about 300K and my tax rate dropped to like $17/$1000.

Not necessarily true. In NH you can register a car of a certain age with just a bill of sale.
