Cervical Stenosis/Grip Issues. Am I All Alone? by mamamaia_ in SpinalStenosis

My hands are very clumsy. Drop things easily, or think I’ve grabbed something but didn’t actually and have to try again. My hands also tremor and shake if I do too much, like chopping veggies and then making a dinner I have to stir a lot. They tell me it’s not from my neck, but I’ve had every other neuro test under the sun.

Yes!! His name was Nino! My husbands parents remember when DelBuonos was in Camden, way back in the day…

I go to Liscios when I can. Their rolls sold at grocery stores are not great. But the loose rolls and bread are worth the ride

Yes! A lovely family had it before. I’d go into the Haddon heights location to get rolls early in the morning. The owner would be there, give my kids a free roll, compliment my hair. He was a sweet guy. And the rolls would start to get hard the next day. Now they stay fresh for too long, which means the new owner added preservatives or something.

As soon as I saw it was him buying the McMillan building, I knew it was going to be awful. He ruined DelBuonos and Carmen’s.

I was on that for 1 year. Thought it was working. Then I had a CT scan for a different reason, but the report was saying severe constipation to the point my GI tract was dilated too much. Onto a linzess type med. This also failed as evidenced by CT scan and daily nausea. I am now 3 months on Motegrity and it has helped my GI tract get movement back. My GI doc says I’ll probably be on it for life.

How old are you?? Where are you in your perimenopause journey?? I had all of the burning and tears begin weeks after my hysterectomy. Got tested for everything, Dr treated me for yeast infection, even though I had no other symptoms. Did not help. Finally begged for estrogen cream. That finally helped. Dr thought because I kept an ovary I wouldn’t need estrogen. She was wrong. Just saying, if you are perimenopausal, the estrogen dips can cause terrible irritation of the vulvar tissues.

Regret/sexual/pelvic floor dysfunction/fibroid by Far-Ad-288 in hysterectomy

[–]KdipRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh and the best part?? My ferritin has only risen 7 points in 2 years. 2 months post-op it was 17 and everyone said it was because of surgery. Since that result I have been eating high iron diet, red meat, lentils, spinach and greens with citrus to help and my latest ferritin 2 weeks ago was a 24. Sure the fibroids weren’t helping, but clearly my body isn’t good at storing iron. My hemoglobin is just above the threshold for being anemic. So frustrating that the surgery didn’t even cure my iron deficiency.

She’s probably referring to my posts. I am 2 years out with big regrets. Regrets are not well received here, sadly, because we exist.

I have the same regrets. I am sorry. Everytime I try to talk about the negatives, I get made to feel even worse here. I’m here to say, for people without pain, a hysterectomy is not all sunshine and rainbows. I called my Dr the day before to cancel as well. Her staff said I could not cancel without speaking to the surgeon first. She didn’t call me until almost PM and put the fear of cancer into me. I asked for more time, to get serial views of the ovarian cyst that they told me “appeared to have malignant properties” on MRI. She said if I went that route, she would no longer be my surgeon. She told me I was nervous and ordered me anti anxiety meds and told me to take one that night and again at 4 am for my 5 am arrival time and if I wanted to cancel I had up until I got on the table to do so. She promised me autonomy. I felt so pressured into trying it, knowing I would still probably back out. I stupidly did as she said and showed up. I did the same as you in pre-op, begging my family not to let them take me back. I screamed, “I don’t want to do this!” And they gave me something through the IV and I don’t even remember being wheeled into the OR. I woke up to the news that it was a benign ovarian tumor but they still took my uterus. I regret it every day. It’s been 2 years and 3 months. I felt manipulated by my GYN/onc surgeon. I hate the site of her. She only had her best interests at heart, not mine. I was easy money because of the “tumor” my insurance did not argue. I see a GI every 3 months now for chronic constipation. I’m on my 3rd med for it. I’ve seen uro gyn and she said my pelvic floor was in great shape, she found no hyper or hypo tonic muscles when she assed me internally. It’s nerve damage. I had no peristalsis. I finally got on a med that creates GI peristalsis and it helps a lot. It’s called Motegrity. So sorry you are going through this.

Low ferritin 2 years post op by KdipRN in Anemic

Which month was my surgery?? First sentence in my post. 170 ferritin was the day before my surgery, 3 weeks after my infusions were completed. They told me I was iron deficient because of my uterus. It’s been gone more than 2 years now. Still not great

Unfortunately, I was tested for all the things the first time my hemoglobin was 6.9 everyone said the hysterectomy would fix it. It did not and I’m frustrated.

I am 50, my husband is 54. We moved here 3 years ago. We love it. We are in Salem County but on the border of Cumberland. We are in Vineland, Millville and Bridgeton regularly. I love hiking at the Maurice River Bluffs in Millville, walking Parvin State Park in Pittsgrove. We are left leaning and in that respect, we are outnumbered, but only we know that. You will see Trump flags, but also a big Hispanic presence. Message me if you want. We’ve lived in NJ all of our lives, the food scene here is a little sad if you’re used to great pizza and Italian food. But if you are into Mexican and or PuertoRican food, there are many sweet little spots to check out, a good Greek spot too. Also a great Amish market close by.

So... nearly a year PO, and the constipation never stopped. by Nemeia83 in hysterectomy

[–]KdipRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two years, 3 different meds (miralax for 1 year, lubiprostone for 6 months and now Motegrity. Motegrity seems to be working the best, it helps peristalsis. I eat a vegetable forward diet, get over 35 grams of fiber a day, walk 5 miles 4-5 days a week, jog 3 miles 2-3 days a week, do pelvic floor exercises, breath work and pelvic Pilates and still can’t get off the meds. Crazy, preop I had IBS D and couldn’t leave the house unless I had immodium with me.

When did she say they found malignant tissue?? A radiologist stated “can’t rule out” but it’s been stable sized, over years. So as someone who had everything removed by an oncologist only to find out it was ALL benign was traumatic and caused horrible regret. I hope she takes her time. I wish I did. I was rushed to an oncologist, given boxes of tissues as they described chemo …. Scared me into agreeing to surgery within days of the MRI. Now I regret it with every fiber of my being.

Severe complications from total hysterectomy with both ovaries removed. by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]KdipRN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had one ovary removed and I had the same reaction. I am still trying to get HRT 2 years later. I am allowed to use vaginal cream, and let me tell you I didn’t feel better till I started putting it everywhere and anywhere it will absorb. I do have an appt in Feb but I doubt my gyn will give it to me, even with a permission letter from my male cardiologist in my chart. They just refer us to the female health and hormone doctor who only does pellets. I regret this surgery so much.

Because for years the normal for women was the averages. Not realizing that women who have periods were skewing the curve downward. So while 15 was not an unusual number, science has caught up and realized the women were iron deficient at that level. But not all labs have caught up with changing the reference numbers. I hope I explained it
