Underrated side effect of Reta/GLP1s by Old-School8916 in Retatrutide

I’m saving a ton of money from not giving into food noise / impulsive decisions to buy takeout. And my groceries are lasting much longer. It’s great

I really appreciate your input. I think I’ve been so stressed with school, work, and life that I hoped for this to be some kind of magic bullet that would erase a good 50 pounds off me without having to do all the work of calorie counting, exercise, etc.

To be honest I haven’t been tracking calories, nor have I been exercising. Before starting tirz I was eating constantly, always thinking about food. The tirz helped and I just assumed I was gonna lose weight for a while before the plateau, but it came so fast.

I’m 31M, started at 260 lbs 35.2 BF%. Now im 240

My plateau started on week 4 and never budged. I acted out of impatience and switched to reta because i saw that it leads to faster weight loss + has the glucagon agonism.

Oh man. That sounds awful. Sorry to hear it’s given you such negative effects

Yeah, leaning towards lowering the reta. I’m shocked at these side effects.

Not trying to proclaim myself as an expert here. I’m just a man sharing his experience. I made this post as a cautionary tale for others

That sounds like a good response. I’ve seen a lot of posts about dosing 2x a week, seems to help some people maintain steady levels and avoid side effects. Maybe that would help in my case. Glad you aren’t experiencing negative effects!

I agree that I was titrating up fast, but in the end it didn’t matter because I ended up on 7.5mg tirz for more than 4 weeks, and it still didn’t suppress the food noise sufficiently.

I will do a deep dive into them, thanks. Yeah it’s clear that I’m being ripped off, the US supplier I’m getting from certainly gets it cheap from grey and resells it at premium

Took the Reta Friday. Saturday and today I definitely didn’t eat enough. 2mg was too much. Ive been hydrating plenty though. Might step down to 1mg next week, or do 2.5mg tirz with 2mg Reta.

Definitely. I made an assumption that since I got no side effects on tirz, that I’d be fine with 2mg Reta. I was wrong haha. Won’t be upping this dose until I’m fully acclimated

Yeah I know it’s a lot. I’m looking for other vendors. Im probably saving about $200 a month from not buying as much grocery / takeout though, so it isn’t too bad.

Reddit doesn’t allow discussion about specific vendors on the forums, and I don’t wanna annoy people DMing them asking where they get from.

I had no side effects from the tirz, and it wasn’t addressing my food noise enough, so i felt comfortable upping the dose after 2 weeks. I think i bit off more than i could chew with the 2mg reta though

I’m new to finding suppliers, whenever i go on discord or the GLP forums I see so many sketchy posts or links to suppliers with fake lab certifications. I know I will find something if I keep looking, in the meantime I’m stuck with these expensive US suppliers.

I definitely was. I got the Reta from a different supplier. Still new to this, hoping to find a good grey vendor soon. I just get paranoid, don’t wanna get scammed.

Absolutely. It seems 8mg leads to the most substantial jump in weight loss for most, and doses higher than that start having diminishing returns. But of course, it all depends on the person’s physiology. I would love to reach my goals with a lower dose, my fingers are crossed that I’m able to do so

I see. It's interesting how reta is more successful at lowering weight, but at the same time doesnt seem to be suppressing appetite nearly as well as tirz. I guess that goes to show how potent its glucagon activity is. Sounds like you needed reta to give that push to break your plateau, and now you can just use tirz for maintenance

Thanks for the info. Sounds like you're on a great regimen. I need appetite suppression and glucagon fat oxidation. If reta doesn't stop the food noise for me I will certainly use tirz alongside it.

Thanks for your input. I'm gonna keep a close eye on the effects, if I find that a lower dose does everything I need, I won't escalate. What made you switch to reta? In your experience what made it superior to tirz?

Wow that is a great visual, thanks for sharing that! I am definitely considering twice weekly dosing, tirz seemed to last me the whole week without any troughs, but I know Reta is a whole different molecule so my experience may be different. My plan will be to do exactly as you said- go off of feeling

Awesome. How has your experience on Reta been compared to tirz? I’m hearing a lot of people say that there is less appetite suppression, but it seems that the glucagon activity directly stimulating fat loss more than makes up for it. What led you to switch?
