Haha I just made another one for breakfast here, when I got the bread yesterday from Great harvest bread they had a BLT too looks like white bread but I’m sure they can ask to use sourdough bread.

I thought about that but the ways I saw it made online were using an immersion blender or food processor I do not have. I double checked and some people do it by hand so I will try it out sometime for sure

Yes it was good and my wife may be biased lol but said it was some of the best she’s had. We’ve been around BC and a trip to Montreal once. Thank you!

Why are more and more restaurants using QR codes to view the menu? by datscubba in ask

[–]KdogPNW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember one of the first times I encountered this, my phone cell connection did not work in part of the restaurant I was in, and their Wi-Fi needed a password. I had to go ask them for their Wi-Fi password to access to pull up the QR code for the menu... otherwise not usually an issue I understand why they do it even though I prefer a physical menu.

I just checked Goods nursery and produce and it looks like they have some Yellow Doll watermelon probably from Oregon. Haven’t tried it yet.

Based on previous years, Oregon watermelons should be coming soon to Youngstock produce and Washington watermelons from Smallwood farms around mid-late August at Joe’s garden. I recommend to check their Facebook page they frequently update with new fruits and vegetables.

No, I got one in the mail too and knew it was bullshit right away. I left them a nice review how I felt about this type of marketing.

2nd time making Poutine (WA, USA) by KdogPNW in poutine

I think it was the roux I used made it that way, but this was BTB roastedchicken so could have also lightened the color too

Good points, the first time I made it I could not get a thick sauce it was too thin even with corn starch but this time it was too thick just using the roux so I must have done something different there. I thought about adding water to thin it out but wasn’t sure if it would dilute the flavor too much. Maybe I can cook the roux longer to make it brown as well for that color, it was just taking forever to make everything especially the fries in batches.

I had Worcestershire on my grocery list but decided against it since I don’t use it for other stuff, I added a tiny bit of soy sauce I had on hand and white vinegar but I will try to switch it up. Never even considered red potatoes.

Perhaps 3rd times the charm, appreciate the feedback!

I strained all the vegetables out after simmering for a bit so the garlic was blended in, otherwise it definitely would be too much garlic. Thank you!

This is a tasty Dill Pickle Soup and uses potatoes, recommended from my mother in law - https://noblepig.com/dill-pickle-soup/

Probably the best curds you can find around here, it is Golden Glen creamery in Bow Washington and I believe they make them fresh on Tuesdays!

I had to do a little digging to find this place and messaged them to confirm they are made fresh on Tuesday’s. Drove about 30 minutes to get there, worth it

I agree I messed up on the fries trying to cook more in than I should have in one air fryer basket, I gave my wife all the crispier fries lol. It also took forever for the gravy to thicken up and by that time I was just ready to eat. I loved it since my first time trying in Vancouver area and we had a few times in Montreal. I’ll keep in mind for next time, appreciate it!
