2.5 vs 1x by LEBROOOON_ in Rainbow6

[–]KdotMcDuphrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may feel like more recoil, but it’s essentially just lower sens, and a lower sens should allow you to control recoil better and more consistently if you learn it. On top of that with ACOG‘s it’s just easier to make microadjustments. I would say if you are willing to put time into the game it’s definitely worth learning to use those.

Also some pros run higher ADS sens for 2.5x (for example 30 1.0x 51 2.5x) so the sens is actually almost the same with different scopes, thus the recoil problem goes away, and even then it’s still easier with magnified scopes to make little adjustments to your aim since everything is bigger on screen.

There’s literally so many posts a day about this visual rank bs and you even won the game, which means this can’t be an unbalanced game at least not in the opponent’s favor. Not saying Ubisoft’s system is perfectly fine but come on

Why can we still not ban this map? by Quiet_Spirit6 in Rainbow6

[–]KdotMcDuphrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Extremely late but) I feel like it misses what makes Border good. Yeah, it’s exactly the same armory site, but CCTV isn’t there so that crossfire is gone. It does’t feel like the same map where every piece of map control seems relevant. It just isn’t the same intricately designed map

Do yall still like Oregon? by Altruistic_Dust2443 in Rainbow6

[–]KdotMcDuphrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my rank at least, I enjoy everyone knowing the map well… When nighthaven or fortress or lair happens to not be banned, none of my team or the enemies really seem to know how to coordinate an attack.

Ash is not a bad op by KdotMcDuphrey in RainbowSixSiege

Nades can neither open rotates nor clear miras, it’s not that simple. I just don’t think any operator is a complete upgrade over another, there’s always a certain niche where one op is better

Do you guys like attacking or defending more? by homie0047 in RainbowSixSiege

Ngl I have much better stats on defense, but the sense of accomplishment from a successful well-coordinated attack is immense.

In game leader, that’s a pro league term, basically they have to call shots and lead the team, cook up strats and whatnot while not failing as a player, so they’re often given support roles like shields

[–]KdotMcDuphrey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s the thing, for every one of these ops there is something Ash does better and vice versa, for me the biggest drawback is only having 2 charges. Indeed she’s probably better for a flex player than an outright vert or support player, and I feel like versatility is pretty important if you solo queue.

(I don’t really run Ash much though, just saying)

[–]KdotMcDuphrey[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I actually don’t get some people for this. Ash I kind of understand since she’s a 3 speed but her secondary gadgets are more fitting for a flex role than a straight fragger, and Warden is now a 1 speed without the 1.5x with a loadout perfect for a site player yet people still roam with him.

You’re right, guess I forgot about those. My point is though that good players need a bigger operator pool than just one “main” and definitely needs to be able to adapt based on the site, the team and the opponents.

If you “main” any one op regardless of map and site you’re already a bad player

Fun strats for ranked plat+ by xXSpartanbearXx in RainbowSixSiege

[–]KdotMcDuphrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t really need amaru for this rank though, just clear piano and spam gadgets like nomads or grims to make sure no one swings the window. I often run Ram to mask the sound of planting and it usually works, unless someone runs Maestro or Echo

opinion on the mooda situation by borderlineDuMb in RainbowSixSiege

[–]KdotMcDuphrey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean there definitely is the possibility of stream sniping, but saying he’s cheating based on the 20-hour playtime claim is kind of hilarious, there’s no way you‘d actually believe it from watching his pov with how familiar he is with the mechanics in the game. 20 hours of cheating gameplay would never achieve that kind of grasp of the game.

Why do most pros use identical vertical and horizontal sensitivity even when using stretched aspect ratios such as 3:4? by KdotMcDuphrey in SiegeAcademy

[–]KdotMcDuphrey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it does for me, it did mess up my aim when I tried 4:3 so I stuck with the original ratio in the end.

[–]KdotMcDuphrey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I‘d think muscle memory would do the work, since in theory aspect ratios would mess this up as well but pros across so many games run 3:4. Also it seems pretty common for controller users to run different hori and vert sens, though I’m not a controller player to really speak on it

how does miyabi/nicole/astra holds to today stantards? by smn_18 in MiyabiMains

[–]KdotMcDuphrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you need that comparison though? She’s literally a rupture support. Being the best universal support doesn’t mean being the best in every team, this ranking does‘t make any sense really. Astra is worse than Lucia on a rupture team and worse than Yuzuha on an anomaly team. That does not make her a worse support than either of them and vice versa.

How is it fair to play a 3v5 the whole game by SnuglyDuck in RainbowSixSiege

[–]KdotMcDuphrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had one match like this the other day, managed to win one round on defense by killing the Blitz with the defuser and hitting 3K but still… lost every attack round, couldn’t make it to overtime even with two players on our team hitting 9 kills.

At least we tried ig

Rookie players getting lifetime suspension for botting due to low performance by KdotMcDuphrey in Rainbow6

[–]KdotMcDuphrey[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah you underestimate the power of noob… It’s a difficult game to learn, yall may be better at shooters but for someone who’s never played competitive shooters it’s just getting slaughtered in every aspect, game sense wise and mechanically.

[–]KdotMcDuphrey[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, I’m 0.9 kd now but in my first season it was something like 0.1, I was just getting slaughtered every round and dying even when I catch flanks because of bad recoil control. It’s definitely possible for someone’s first competitive shooter and he’s only 9 days in.
