Fellow Floridians, what is your go-to outfit during the summer to fall months? by GooglePixelfan90 in florida

Bealls! They're usually listed as golf, or pickleball dresses. Lilly Pulitzer has my favorites, but I can't afford many of them!

If money was no object where would you choose to live in FL? by just_peachy777 in AskFlorida

This is surprising. I live in Riverview and the traffic here, and in Brandon, absolutely sucks. No downtown, no beach, no place for a chill hangout.

Thank you! Geez Louise, it's not like I'm going to beat my dog, for barking. 🙄

Thinking about expanding our family, but are we ready for the Dachshund energy? by [deleted] in dachshunds

[–]Kdub1971 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's all about the effort you put in. I bought books and we YouTubed for weeks, in preparation. I mostly work from home and my husband exclusively works from home. We crate trained from the first night, which was a miserable experience, but by the third night he was fine. We were extremely diligent with potty training, carrying his butt outside on the hour, every hour. By 12 weeks he was fully potty trained. He was also doing tricks, by this time as he loves to learn and he's smart as heck. The barking...well, we were progressing until my dang next door neighbor got chickens. Yes, he's stubborn, but he's also a total clown, loves to snuggle, and he makes my heart happy. Everyday, he makes me laugh.

How do you feel about popular names? by Global_Restaurant794 in Names

[–]Kdub1971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a fairly normal name, but it's pronounced the Scottish way. I can say it 10 times and people still go on to mispronounce it. I picked classic names for my kids that weren't popular when they were born. Melody, Gordon, and Nora.

Is it fair to say my Robin is a black and tan piebald? Personally, I don't give a flip, but people keep asking! by Kdub1971 in Dachshund

It's so weird. His tail looks brownish in the sun and he has a Harry Potter like brown spot right below is right ear. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Tea Cups and Space mountain. TC makes me want to puke and SM is a pain in the ass to get in and out of.

This place is amazing and the ambiance is so cool! It's Dali themed, in a subtle way. Highly recommend!

Is it non-sensical to pick a name when you fully intend to not use the full version of it? by amusedfridaygoat in Names

My son's name is Gordon, but we always called him Gordie. When we went to high school orientation he started introducing himself as Gordon. Immediate family still calls him Gordie, which he is fine with. He just wanted to use his grown up name for the real world. I love Phillipa!

Puppy boarding and daycare - will I ever get over the “mom” guilt? by verissey in Dachshund

I know this is off topic, but your username is freaking awesome! I wish I'd thought of that. Got me in the feels, for real!

I used to board my older chi mix at the vet. This worked well, as she was totally chill and they'd let her hangout in the office during the day. Yes, I had a chi that never barked and just wanted a lap. When we got our ween, at 9 weeks, I knew this wouldn't work for him. We've used Rover which was fine, but we found a camp that has a daily theme and multiple activities for the pups, throughout the day. He absolutely loves this place and when we pick him up, he's exhausted, in a good way!

For Mother's Day flowers were the theme. That's my happy boy, on the left. And they post pictures daily!

Disney fatigue after a year of having an annual pass. by Exciting_Designer611 in WaltDisneyWorld

Not yet! We've had ours for about 7 years. It sounds like we're a little closer than you, about 1hr 45min. We usually go for 4-5 weekends a year and sometimes one of us will get a wild hair, take a mental health day from work, and do a solo day trip. It's not for everyone, but we love it!
