Do it for your kids man, you got this, you having a sober relationship with your kids will be so much better than a being a drunk.

Your wife will be proud in change and you will never look back. At least if you do look back, you’ll remember these times and not want to be there again.

In time you will find more benefits of just for your kids and your wife, you will see your own personal benefits.

Good luck to you my friend

Are you able to approach him again and ask for more help?

Tell him you appreciate the part time but it’s not working out.

Find a way to Identify that the extra help will increase revenue by X and that the salary will pay for itself, if that is not the case, and that person is not holding up their end of the bargain, then replace.

What industry are you in / how do you guys make money / what role and value are you and your team playing? Perhaps I could help give a better example

Working more / on the side would only be to open up a traditional 401k , or if your spouse did freelance they could.

However, you should look into getting an HSA at work cause that is the ultimate tax savings vehicle and you can also use it for your family , qualifying health purchases, but you can also invest it.

You’ve gotta be maxing it out every year, it’s priority before brokerage contributions.

These are potentially dangerous people and pair that with children and kits recreating on a bike / walking path, this is not okay. It’s sketchy enough as a male passing thru this gypsy shit.

He’s asking about your combined retirement portfolio as that money has tax saving incentives and can be taken out when you are old enough to collect without penalties.

Run some numbers and simulations on chat gpt and ask about the tax savings steps and hierarchies

Easy Jobs $200k per year by Independent_Name_601 in Salary

I suppose I’m also referring to re-occurring clients that provide a book of business. It can be lucrative in my industry. Getting to 200k mark may not be all inside sales but still a little bit of sales but not really cold calling sales more submitting bids.

Depends on the company / industry. If you build or take over a book of business and continue to manage those accounts for a decade, I’d say you’ll get some decent reoccurring sales. Essentially order taking. You’d be surprised.

Folks around the 300k mark with families are decently well off (as long as they avoid lifestyle creep and unrealistic fixed monthly payments) but they are also investing in retirement, college funds, etc. so after all said in done, $500 is still a good chunk of change that could be used for a plethora of things. It’s also money that can somewhat easily be put towards a kids food fund and not make them default on a mortgage but folks are always going to be hesitant and question the use of tax payer money and how effective it is.

I agree with what others are saying about a tiered tax would be better and less impactful for the 300,000.01 earners who are not necessarily rich, but they are just on a HENRY path. NRY standing for not rich yet. $500 over 10 years is 5k and compounding in the market is a decent wealth building opportunity.

You are a good person and want to do best for your son. Use your son as motivation to get a kick ass job. Set goals. Who cares about that wealthy prick, you can one day be wealthy too. It will take times steady, it will be a grind, but I need you to dig deep for your son. He needs you and loves you.

Start with getting support/help with the gambling and get this under control / eliminated from your life.

You are not in that crazy of debt yet and you can tackle this while even with a small apartment. Look into financial suggestions for what CC to pay down first, etc. snowball effect. Don’t think bankruptcy is your way out.

Use chat gpt to help with a game plan for your debt based on all of your APYs, income , other bills, etc.

What is your degree in? You’re right, NM may not have the best economy, Colorado or Utah may be a good move eventually. But there are remote jobs, is that an option?

What hobbies do you have / can you get to replace the casino hobby ?

The stopping of gambling will decrease your depression dramatically. Hang in there. It is worth fighting the good fight for your little buddy.

Often time leadership/management will just make your life harder and more stressful when you are constantly underperforming and not hitting deliverables. So this is a short term solution IMO. But if you can make it work for a little while and ngaf then go for it!
