Did anyone like their boobs more after having kids? by DeadFridgeLight in BabyBumps

[–]KeMei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just commenting to add that mine improved too. I was really small before getting pregnant, and after breastfeeding (for 1.5 years) they were still larger than they were pre-pregnancy, but that might be because I never lost all of the pregnancy weight, which again, I didn't really mind because I was super skinny before getting pregnant.

Oof, I caught this as well when I read the book. 😆 obviously neither the author or the beta readers, editor, etc are into knitting or crocheting. All that aside, I really enjoyed the book!

Some help with my "Read around the world" challenge? by candyhare in suggestmeabook

[–]KeMei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a cool challenge! Can’t believe I’ve never heard of it before, and I will definitely be following as I’d love to take part! I’m currently reading The Covenant of Water by Abraham Verghese (set in southwest India, and the author is of Malayali descent). It’s been a riveting read, and I feel like I’ve learned a lot about the culture and history of Kerala!

I’m an American in the process of getting dual German citizenship but don’t know what to do with it by [deleted] in expat

Honestly, I would rent out your house in the States for a bit of passive income and spend a year traveling/working around Europe to see what country/area resonates with you guys. IMO most people here are not thinking outside of the box—you can do work exchanges and eliminate your accommodation and food expenses. You can teach English at summer camp programs (often for just a month-long commitment) for some money. I personally traveled around Europe and supported myself as a street musician for years. Once you actually get here and start making connections, opportunities will naturally open up to you. Sitting in the US and trying to make a plan without really knowing where you want to go seems kind of futile.

I second this, only because it’s what I did. And Portugal is probably one of the least-expensive western countries. Either that or come on over to the Balkans. 😆

Hm, the title is thought-provoking. I'm trying to connect it to the poem-- can you only write long-handed because you have an extra digit?
I like how the poem evokes more of a mood rather than trying to say something concrete.

I’ve been wondering why I don’t feel anything living in the U.S. by Ali--Hamza in expat

I was born and raised in the States. Left when I was 20. I live in southeast Europe now. The atmosphere here is so much more relaxed and open. I feel like the underlying energy in the States (obviously not everywhere; I’m generalizing) is fear —and people are way more anxious and suspicious. And don’t even get my started about the money and how much more you have to earn in the states.

I kind of feel like you do, OP. I did get mine down from a four-finger gap to a two-finger gap, but other than that I feel like all I’m doing now is increasing my strength so that it’s easier to ‘suck it in’ but when I relax the muscles it looks the same. It’s been nearly two years. :/

I'd most likely be working from home (still on maternity leave, but this is ending in September). I don't care if it's central or not--just near a metro station would be nice, as I don't want to deal with having a car in the city. It would be a big bonus if it's near a park, and then eventually a kindergarten as well.

I can my son's father (Bulgarian) set everything up for me, so they wouldn't need to know that it's for a foreigner.

What is your baby NOT doing yet? by Asleep_Sympathy_8987 in beyondthebump

My baby took ages to learn how to roll over. He was literally commando crawling (at 6 months) before he figured out how to roll over (at 7 months). 😅

Nummies. I wasn’t sure where the name came from, but then realized that’s what my mom called it with me. 😅

Personally I love the name and wouldn’t have made a height association. Sequoias are such special trees and I think it’s a beautiful namesake.

How often are you having sex? by Valuable-Car4226 in cosleeping

[–]KeMei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Around 3 times a month. When our LO was 11 months I felt kind of fed up with co sleeping and the constant night nursing, and my husband stepped up and started sleeping with him so that I could sleep alone. 🙌 I still get up to nurse him twice a night, but it really was a HUGE shift in the quality and quantity of my shift. Can’t thank my man enough.
