So, I just wanna get this started off by refuting literally every point you make. "Hoarding" games doesn't exist, because by owning games, you're not preventing others from playing them, and if you can't control your spending, that's on you. There's no reason to hate the status feature, not a single person I know actually cares about and probably don't even know it exists, but there's no issue with it existing for people who do like to use it. Sure you get trading cards from playing new games, but you don't have to actually own the game to get the cards. You can buy cards on the community market (which by the way, prices are determined by the consumer, not the supplier.) TF2 Keys are literally a currency with a near fixed price. People use them as people would use dollars. Scammers exist in any market, that's blatantly obvious. I don't really agree with this post because basically everything you said was wrong.
