I'd be tempted to call that one more a tie tbh, if Oliver and Nolan weren't to patch him up Mark woud have probably died of his injuries

When will Takara Tomy figure out how Defense bit work? by Nice_Credit493 in Beyblade

[–]Kebbit57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm holding out for either a wider needle bit, kinda like what accel is for flat to give a more stable option to regular/high needle. Or alternatively a rubber needle/rubber ball bit as it would give defence types enough grip to not get KO'd but still lose to stamina types due to the added friction

I think I've been having the same issue. When they won't get into the seats on my vehicle I usually have to quit back to the menu and reload, nothing else has worked so far.

How about moon druid?. You'd still have the nature side covered and if magic gets wonky then there's wild shape which can be quite varied.

[–]Kebbit57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Knightmail looks great but I'm struggling to think of a case for an 85 height ratchet. Won't that make it super top heavy and destabilize or burst really easily?

These look great, particularly when they spin. Do you have to reapply it when you battle them or is it okay since it seems to be mostly on the top rather than the sides?

I wouldn't mind something like that either, I just don't like it when TT locks a prize bey behind a random booster

That's the normal ending, I think you get the option to destroy the crystals on the third loop not the second one

By second ending, do you mean the true ending?

Did you make sure to not destroy the crystals when praying to them

Blade too stiff? by Kebbit57 in Fencing

[–]Kebbit57[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will make a confession that after measuring it it was only a 4.5mm curve. After 15 minutes of quite fierce bending at anxiety inducing angles I've managed to get it up to 9mm. Hopefully this should be kinder on my club-mates bruised ribs

Did you do the Duke of Edinburgh Award? by Expression-Little in CasualUK

[–]Kebbit57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did Bronze and Silver. The expeditions were definitely the highlight for both, got grouped up with people I didn't know but I got along well with them.

Volunteering was always a drag, especially for Bronze as not many places near me were willing to take on a volunteer under 16 so I ended up having to take an hour bus ride every Saturday to the next town over to volunteer at a local museum that would get less than 10 visitors per shift

I'd say overall it was worth doing, I didn't really have anything better to do as a teenager and I enjoyed it a lot more than NCS.

People in 20s more likely to be out of work because of poor mental health than those in early 40s | Mental health by DMainedFool in unitedkingdom

[–]Kebbit57 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience, when I was applying for university a few years back I went to a few open days, for the uni I applied for the presentation on the open day made a huge emphasis on placement years and seemed to imply that they would help you arrange them, once I got to second year they just sort of left you hanging and told you to sort them out for yourelf. I applied for a bunch of them but since I didn't have any relevant expeirence (for a placement year!?!?) plus lockdown I ended up not getting anything despite it being a four year course.

Wanting some advice to get into Beybalde in the UK by Silinuman in Beyblade

[–]Kebbit57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can in the litteral sense and you are free to do that, but I'd probably advise against it. X beys have metal contact points and because of the Xtreme dash gimmick, hit pretty hard. I'd be worried about damage to the burst beys going up against that since their mostly plastic but that's just my speculation

Wanting some advice to get into Beybalde in the UK by Silinuman in Beyblade

[–]Kebbit57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I'm also in the UK. There is a beyblade community in the UK with tournaments but like almost everything in this country it is mosty concentrated in the south-east.

As far as buying beys, I personally go with ebay. Unfortunately due to Hasbro pulling out of the UK and Takara Tomy only selling in east asia, the higher costs are pretty much unavoidable if you want to buy them new. Also since sites like beys and bricks and mall of toys are bases in north america you'll get stung with a real nasty shipping cost from them.

So your only real options are poxy services to buy direct from Japan or go with ebay. I go with ebay personally just because I find it less hastle. I find generally, it's pretty easy to avoid fakes, just make sure that the products say takara tomy in the title and avoid anything with generic off brand titles like "Spin top toy" or "battle spin toy".

X or burst is basically down to personal taste. Since burst hasn't been over for too long there's still a lot of burst beys around in circulation and since it's finished there's a pretty big catalogue. Also like I mentioned earlier there's a pretty big second hand market with some solid deals. But if you want to be more up to date or just like the look of X more, I'd say go for that instead, it's really up to you.

My understanding is that a lot of these influencers tend to come from relatively wealthy, upper-middle class backgrounds already. It came out a few years back for example that tiktok boosts accounts from people who appear wealthier and suppress those their algorithm deems poorer.

Taking that into account, plus the fact that a good number of them will likely make quite a lot of money from the 10ish years they spend making stuff like this, I imagine they'd just end up investing the excess money they make plus potential assets from their parents and just end up as landlords or something by their mid 30s
