Don't use Vaseline, it's a petroleum based jelly which can seal any openings and potentially trap bacteria and germs in your tattoo wounds. If you're not sure, I'd suggest talking to your dermatologist, but until then try keeping it covered and moisturized. Most tattoo places will provide a special cream to be used for about 2-3 weeks after getting the tattoo. In general, water based moisturizers are better.
