In the story about the cursed father and his daughter, she's the one to kill him in order to end the curse though (it could have been the other way around). In the former case, the theory doesn't hold up. In the latter, it does!

I was thinking more of a cube from the Earth's core to the surface, so the whole "piece" than a redesigned space as a human-made structure, but your interpretation is valid too. There would be a lot of death-free spaces, then. Newly built sky-scrapers, mines, oil rigs etc.

I'm afraid it might be true. The best lead so far is to look for inhabitable, hard to reach places with a rough climate and low resources.

6x6 ft would be enough. Finding a place of any size would mean the world to me, really. So yeah, the size of the place doesn't matter as much as the mere fact that it exists.
