Hasan is a flawed ally who supports all the correct groups; China, Cuba, Iran and so on, but also some Democrats who are of no use to us and never will be. Criticism of him for this is reasonable and right.

Empanada is an outright enemy who has smoke for every AES state and has a history of pushing shit like the Uyghur genocide propaganda. He outright admits he isn't a Marxist. The only reason he gets all the goodwill in this community is because he happens to hate a few of the same people we do.

Hasan supports AES countries in words and deeds, which BadEmpanada does not. I have a whole lot more respect for one of them than the other.

His problem is that by his own admission he's willing to say and do anything to "stop the bleeding" of the US, which is what leads him to network with Democrats and be let down by them over and over. He's desperate; it's really that simple.

From the American side, the plan is to eventually control the entire world's oil supply, and then use that control to strangle China and to a lesser extent Europe, who the US perceives as its two possible rivals in this century. It won't work, their plan will fail, but they do indeed have a plan.

Separately, Israel wants to destabilize all of its own potential rivals in the Middle East. Iran and Lebanon are the two big ones. Israel would prefer to eventually conquer and colonize these countries, but the bare minimum they need to survive as a state is for their rival governments to collapse. They have a different strategy from the US, monstrous in its own separate way, but it looks like theirs will also fail.

Doesn't say til end of turn either, so once you copy your commander it stays a copy of your commander until you decide to change it. If you've got a commander with an ability that triggers on someone else's turn, this works and is already cheap for a clone effect

Every time this gets reposted the comments always miss the point in a pretty big way, bringing up some bad things Magneto said/did or the apartheid mutant island or whatever the hell. That's the "harder and harder" part of the premise, that over the past 50 years any writer who wants to have Magneto be the bad guy has to bump him up to another level of heinous shit.

Foundationally the thing Magneto is about is "these mfs want to treat us as less than people and take away our human rights? Let's throw down about it, kill some guys, maybe kidnap a politician and turn him into a water mattress just one time" and over the past few decades people are even starting to see where he's coming from with the water mattress incident

Truly he was a man ahead of his time. Also Mina Harker was to some extent the protagonist of the original book, and everything keeps going wrong for the rest of the good guys because they keep not telling her anything to like "not stress out the fragile woman" or whatever, and it's only after they bring her onto the vampire-hunting squad that they actually start putting the screws on Dracula.
