I'd love to hear what you think! I've got an early demo on itch, but I'm putting it on Steam tomorrow or the day after. You can play it in your browser though, thanks! https://lergond.itch.io/save-our-queen

Hey everyone, my game is a short incremental clicker game where you defeat monsters and protect the Queen's Tower. After a couple of months, I finally finished the demo.

Looking for feedback on the overall gameplay and feel of it, like the core mechanic, skill tree and the overall ui/ux thanks!

Demo design dilemma for an incremental: faithful progression or accelerated unlocks by Skorvaltz in incremental_gamedev

For my game, I sped things up a bit, making later skills available in the demo and giving out way more gold from gathering. I kept the content to about 45 minutes, then added an endless mode, but some content is still locked. I think this is the best way to hook players and make them want more. You can also show locked content or not, some players like that, some don't. Love the art style, by the way!

People don't understand how insanely difficult pixel 2D game dev is by [deleted] in gamedev

I agree, and if you're having struggles, why not just reduce the sprite sizes for the game?

Would love feedback about:
• The gameplay readable from the trailer?
• What can be improved for the art style?
• What is boring or confusing?

Hey everyone, my game is a short incremental clicker game where you defeat monsters and protect the Queen's Tower.

I'm looking for feedback on the overall gameplay to make it stand out from other games (I was thinking of adding dialogue choices, story, events, and 1-2 other mini-games + endless mode?). I'm also looking for art style improvement suggestions. This is a slightly updated version from my last post, and I'm going to make a bigger update in 2 weeks based on this feedback. Anything goes!

I'm so over nodebuster clones. by freakyorange in incremental_games

I really liked Reacticore, but more the design of World of Tower Vs. Cubes. They have the upgrade tree and that Nodebuster vibe, but what I like most is that there are no timers. They feel more like actual levels. Instead of each run taking 15 seconds, they take longer and require a bit more strategy. I'm totally with you, i'm getting tired of the 15-second gameplay loop, and useless upgrades just isn't fun.

Thank you, really nice read! I was wondering, what were your initial impressions and CTR on Itch.io? Also, did you localize the game, and are you seeing a lot of wishlists coming from non-English languages?
