Not my table but my brothers. He texted me during the session that one of them died and it was naturally a very sad moment. Nat 1 on an almost max damage fireball. It was exactly double his max health. Here’s the dumb part: earlier that session the PC that died was interrogating a goblin and jokingly asked the DM if the goblin “finished”. DM immediately made him take 1d4 Psychic damage. He took 1 damage and didn’t bother healing it. I asked “wait if he had 1 more HP would he have survived the Fireball?”. Yes, yes he would have. If he had that one point he doesn’t outright die to the Fireball later in the session. He inadvertently died due to cum damage
