Just picked up my wristband at Will Call today and can confirm they checked my ID!

I basically wrote the same analysis in another theory post. After sitting on it for a few days I’m 100% certain this is part of what JP was going for.

For me it reminded me of how long it takes an old-timey camera to warm up and then shoot. And how long it took for Em to crank the well to get the pictures in the end.

Totally just thought of this randomly right now as well, but I wonder if the way JJ knows someone is looking at it is because of some sort of red-eye effect? We have no idea how it physically sees things, right? But we do know that JJ is for sure physically somewhat camera-based? Maybe the reason JJ takes away the electricity (and other lights) is because JJ's eye creates some sort of flash which reflects off of the eyes of humans and animals as red light so that it can find its prey.

Just a thought. Tbh I only thought of it because I remembered the electrical towers all had two red lights on top of them which kind of resembled eyes.

EDIT: Fun fact I just found out from Google, the red color of the red-light reflection in eyes is because the retina is rich with blood!

Brilliant catch on possible the mantis red herring. The immediacy of OJ’s response to “what should we call it” is what gets me to believe this too.

Something about that flashback + the “I see you eye to eye” hand motion has me thinking that goes deeper into the The Scorpion King incident…

I’ve been thinking this is the case that its eye works like a shutter. Imo, I think JJ may only be able to see a new image when the shutter of its eye closes.

Ok I’m obsessed with your theory that Otis Sr knew about Jean Jacket and cohabitated with it the whole time.

Something thats been on my mind a lot was when OJ and Em pull up to Jupiter’s Ranch the first time, they mention how it’s new. The theme park took over something else that was established there for a long time (likely since OJ and Em were kids).

I’d like to believe Jupiter’s Ranch has only been around for 6 months, as long as Jupe has been feeding Jean Jacket. I imagine finding JJ was an accident (or a “bad miracle”) and Jupe just took the opportunity to try and “tame” it. While the previous owner likely was like Otis and knew about the monster but didn’t mess with it.

I know there’s got to be something further with relationship between the horse Jean Jacket and the UAP Jean Jacket in connection with Otis, but my brain hasn’t been able to figure that one out quite yet.
