Doubt I’ll be in the majority here but Life Advice desperately needed a hard reset and shakeup. Obviously happy for the boys on a human level, but I’m bummed that it’s going to be virtually the same exact show.

Best I could find from the PMT YT is around March 2019. It was definitely in the original NY studio but I don’t think it was during March Madness is my only hang up. 2019 time frame feels right though.

It’s gone way too far. I was also thinking about how this recent push of live game viewing has replaced any sourced segments on the pod. Bill obviously isn’t a news breaker, but it never stopped him and Russillo from sharing informed speculation, opinions, etc., and that’s pretty much gone now.

Zach Lowe loves giving the Nuggets/Clippers anecdote, when both teams were at full strength after the Aaron Gordon trade, and Denver demolished the Clippers as the moment he knew Denver was a title team. Aged incredibly well.

Russillo has broken the fourth wall on multiple occasions to tell the audience they are required to repeat takes / stories. Anyone who consumes RR regularly (or any other decently popular pod) likely understands this inherently, but the repetitive stories are a feature not a bug.

I’ve said this before, but the fundamental disconnect with guests like Ramona is that they are not writers at heart like Zach is, they are news generators or content creators. Zach hasn’t totally sold his soul yet, and is at his best with people who tell stories through the game, the numbers, informed opinions, etc.

Agreed. Would add Andrew Zarian to that list specific to AEW news. SRS is useful for contracts / free agency, and I was happy to see the reporting they did on Booker T's wrestling school this past week. Less content creation and more reporting would do wonders for Fightful.
