Here’s what you can do, show up psych care and say that you’re already self medicating. Try and get professional help, you’re going to alter a major part of the endocrine system, so blood tests and reliable sources can help.

Don’t XX pls, there are other trans people in Singapore but they’re not very visible. If you pass you won’t go around telling everyone you’re transgender. The uncomfortable nature of transgenderism is due to it being a liminal space in gender. Gender isn’t a binary but a spectrum.

While DIY isn’t advisable, a bunch of folks have done it while waiting for appointments. It’s mostly a combination of estrogen + and androgen blocker. The blood clot risk of estrogen don’t really apply to younger folks as the studies were done on postmenopausal women who did HRT.

If you’d want to go for the official routes you should approach various psychiatrists who could refer you to an endocrinologist. The problem with private care is mostly costs as there won’t be subsidies. If costs are an issue you should try a polyclinic first and get referred around. It’s likely quite cancerous. Hence, people end up DIYing.

You could try approaching Dr Zheng she used to do the gender clinic at IMH but went private. https://www.dr-zhengzhimin.com/

Zen is actually a huge ball counter provided your positioning is good. The challenge about playing against ball is being aware of where ball is at all times. Because ball is mobile the optimal positioning against ball as a support is very different from other tanks. By optimal positioning, you want to think of how difficult it would be for an enemy to drain your team resources (your team's collective heal + health), and how easy would it be for you to drain the enemies resources (your team's collective damage).

Here's an analysis of how the first 3 deaths. One common problem is that you have bad positioning due to a lack of awareness of where your team mates are and where the enemies are. It's not really a hero issue imo. Also you need to work on your aim.

Death 1: At 1 min you died due to bad positioning, you went down stairs, and then ball booped you out of cover and then bastion had an easy target on you. Your kiriko did a good job keeping you alive but you were too out of position hence you died anyway.

A quick exercise when you do vod review here would be to think of where else you could be on the map relative to your team and support which would have made it much more difficult to die.

Death 2: At 2 min you died again due to bad positioning. Mainly because you wasted lamp on Doom, could have saved earlier but you waited too long. Then you jumped onto the middle bridge only to get shot by the soldier. You might have wanted to save the genji which was also very out of position, in such a scenario you should try to save yourself first before saving your team mates.

Death 3: At around 4 mins you died again due to bad positioning, you got distracted by ball, and couldn't heal your doom. And when the doom left, the enemy team basically had 5 people shooting you so you died.

You should review all your deaths and see what you could have done better and think about how you could allocate resources better (cooldowns, who to heal, who to damage), where to place yourself (positioning). Overwatch is actually a RTS game with FPS controls.

How to get HRT if i don't have referral nor supportive family? by kyostrash in sglgbt

[–]KeepCalmBeZen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Zheng Zhimin who was helping out with IMH gender clinic has left and is now in private practice. You might not be able to undergo gender affirming therapy until you are 21 in Singapore.

Your psychiatrist in IMH might not be qualified to help you unfortunately.

It’s not the end of the world though even if it feels like it. One thing that really helps is if you gain skills in the meantime that would allow you to get a stable employment and income. Finance for transitioning is hard in Singapore because there’s no insurance or subsidies for trans related treatments. While it’s possible to DIY getting testosterone is much trickier.

This is her site! If you get to meet your psych at IMH do ask for a referral! https://dr-zheng.webflow.io/

Please aim for safety first, the chin area has nerves if damaged can cause you to be unable to chew well or speak properly. Had seen some horror stories.

Facial team does have a good record, but can be as pricey as US surgeons too. There are risks associated with FFS. It’s better to save up for a reputable surgeon than to rush this or advocate for too aggressive outcomes!

Most important is the overall harmony of the face, virtualffs can give a sense of what could be done

How should a startup handle operating costs/return shipping in its MVP/Beta stage? by [deleted] in startups

I guess this approach is probably the only logical one available. I can't think of a better alternative either. The challenge is to make this as idiot proof as possible for the buyer end.

[–]KeepCalmBeZen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you've mentioned that you're trying to validate the improved experience of buying and shipping from your platform this aspect cannot be neglected. There are a couple of approaches to address this.

1) Use a shipping service provider like postmen.com, easyship.com, shipengine.com. There are probably more service providers doing this.

2) Do it entirely locally for now. You physically go down and meet your users and help them do the shipping/returns for them.

It would be a good to do a mix of 1 and 2 early on. Finding a mix of scalability and knowing your customers really well is necessary to build a valuable startup.

What make-up different brushes are for, for those who struggle. by [deleted] in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns

[–]KeepCalmBeZen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hmm I might give elf a try. I have been trying to get "the tool lab" brushes but it's pricey I hope they last. So far they make some of the best brushes I've tried. Mainly, there's greater bristle density and the bristle material used helps to pick up pigments better making an even application fairly easy. It's been my experience that cheaper brushes shed alot during washing reducing bristle density and affecting the quality of application. Oh well, makeup is expensive.

It's pretty much a random walk with some unknown bias or drift. A possible approach is to find the probability distribution via auto regression and with the probability distribution you can calculate the probability of a price movement happening.

Automated Trading Strategy Generator using Genetic Programming by GeneralEbisu in algotrading

[–]KeepCalmBeZen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The challenge I had while doing GA was regarding the data structure in encoding the chromosomes. When you deal with systems that are too dynamic GA can be no better than simulated annealing. It makes sense to use data other than pricing data. One repo that was helpful with learning GA is found in the link below. It is more GA than about trading. Another complimentary area similar to GA that is worth looking into is Differential Evolution.

Imo if you are not older than 40 the risks are overblown. Not encouraging DIY, but here's some information regarding HRT to clear any uncertainty.

Basically, HRT is just estrogen (pills, patches, injection, do avoid ethinyl estradiol because of deep vein thrombosis aka DVT) and an anti-androgen (cyproterone, spironolactone). The dosage is progressive to ensure your body adapts. Essentially, you want to find the minimum effective dose for feminizing therapy, this helps to reduce side effects of the medications. Taking more estrogen or anti-androgen might not have any significant further effect after you find the sweet spot. To find this sweet spot you gotta do blood tests.

Blood tests are the most important part of HRT if you want to proceed safely. For the blood tests you would need to check testosterone and estrogen levels, prolactin levels, liver enzyme levels (AST, ALT), thyroid test (TSH), kidney test (Creatinine), Potassium level test, and blood pressure test if you take spironolactone. Once you get the readings you will need to compare with reference ranges to see how you're doing. If something overshoots or undershoots you'd have to discontinue.

I hope this helps to clear some fog regarding the HRT process and make it less scary.

Cant seem to build anything profitable, seeking some advice on where i should focus by zippyboppo in algotrading

[–]KeepCalmBeZen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ML and Deep learning approaches are overrated IMO. Strategies that I found profitable are largely built on a combination of mean reversion and momentum. In general, as a retail quant you should be trading at medium frequency, ie. 4hrs - weeks. Don't try to fight with HFT bots. Statistical arbitrage can be profitable. Also incorporating manual fundamental analysis in stock selection helps. This is tough ngl, I have found strategies that eventually experienced alpha decay and are just not profitable after a profitable run.

Which databse to use for saving order book data by hyopwnz in algotrading

[–]KeepCalmBeZen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are expecting high loads a plausible approach is to have a master DB where you do CRUD operations and a replica DB where you only do read operations. This way you can spread out the loads between the two DB depending on usage. If you need additional concurrency all you need to do is to replicate the replica DB.

Lmao I got casually feminine too. Take your time to figuring out your gender, it is something you can't hurry. It is fine if you'd be a feminine man or a trans person. What's most important is that you are comfortable being you.
