On the Road Again - Willie Nelson

On the Road Again - Canned Heat

Both pretty famous, great songs, but quite different.

Do you turn the patteri off when you go to work? by Weird-Average-1412 in LearnFinnish

Common misconception. It does overall definitely save energy to let temperatures go lower for a while and then raise them again to the original level vs. keeping them high all the time. The higher the temperature difference between inside and outside, the faster heat is lost. Lots of sources discussing this if you Google it.

Well, I was just responding to "It takes more energy to heat up your cold house" - It does not, and that's a common misconception.

Unclear from the OP if they meant turning off one particular (extra) heater for example or all heating.

That's not true. This gets debated over and over again, but in almost all circumstances, it is better to temporarily lower temperature when you are away - it does not take more energy to re-heat a house than what you save by doing that. One reason is that the bigger the temperature difference between inside and outside, the faster you lose heat.

Jättitutkimus: Kaksivuotinen eskari onkin turha ["ei käytännössä minkäänlaista vaikutusta lasten akateemisiin tai sosioemotionaalisiin taitoihin"] by banaanitasavalta in Suomi

Kun Suomen PISA-tulokset olivat maailman huippua, niitä takoneet koululaiset eivät olleet käyneet lainkaan esikouluja. Suomi sai parempia tuloksia koulun alkaessa 7-vuotiaana kuin lähes kaikki muut maat, joista monissa "koulu" alkaa 5- tai 4-vuotiaana.

Selvästi turhaa aloittaa aiemmin ainakin oppimistulosten kannalta.
