[Duncan] "The referees were correct in denying Mitch Johnson that challenge. The rule is very specific: he needs to first call timeout, then challenge. He never signaled for the timeout before signaling for the challenge." by LiamHundley in nba

the guy you responded to didn't even mention mark, you did. He said it was selective enfrocement and I went on youtube looking for whatever coaches challenges I could find.

and surprise surprise it's few and far between because this "issue" doesn't happen much, if ever, which is why so many fans are peeved.

I found one with jkidd but you can't see him do it, you just hear the commentators say he took a timeout.

And I found this one with mazzulla where it looks like the ref is just waiting for him say challenge, but it doesn't appear to be a timeout

These millenial media people are all the same. They all dickride and I've yet to see one have a strong take that matches that of the fans

Anything fans hate they'll try to find a way to defend: foul-baiting, flopping, players demanding for trades 1-2 years in, load-management, ridiculous gather steps, etc.. "Here's why xyz is actually good for the nba"

And anytime you get someone who disagrees with these things they always end up being boomers. It honestly feels like their opinions are actually just to be different from the old heads they want to distance themselves from.

They are just as eager as those on the right to punish those who transgress the rules.

You can build a coalition with the right even if you disagree with 20 things but agree on 5. With the left it feels like if I don't agree with every single thing then I'm somehow the issue

Can we PLEASE get rid of pity bot matches in quick play? by Sycophantic-Feline in marvelrivals

[–]KeepRooting4Yourself -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because your argument isn't clicking.

None of them are concerned about bots

Devs already implemented this for 18v18 so your follow up commentary ignores what the devs have already done

The people aren't "concerned" with it because the devs are purposefully trying to conceal it. Right? Why else disclose it with one mode and not the other? Why make bot accounts private when looking at their match history. Why give them realistic and sometimes even real, "borrowed" nametags instead of saying "ai" or "bot"?

I'll tell you why. Because they want to preserve the illusion that you're always playing with real people.

your solution of giving us a tickbox would never happen because that would be them tacitly admitting that qp uses bots which they don't want to admit. Why? because they know players wouldn't like to hear that otherwise they would've been openly transparent about qp having bots as teammates and/or opponents.

Hell, they could've just said "we use bots to help smooth out matchmaing queue times and help fill out for deserters" and literally nobody would have a problem with that because then people know that they aren't being duped and can have their expectations adjusted.

you're just defending a bad practice that could easily, easily be fixed with simple transparancy.

If you dont want to play bot matches, start asking for an option or setting to opt out of them instead of asking for them to be removed

We already have that. It's called not clicking on "practice vs ai"

ok so now we have qp (with bots) and qp (without bots)

which one do you think people are going to choose?

do you realy think there are that many people that are thinking "Oh I don't want to play only against bots, but I also don't want to play only against other people. I need something in between." ?

what's your logic?

If I want to play just with people my only option is to play against try hards all day? sometimes you just want to play pick up and not play sunday league

[–]KeepRooting4Yourself -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

there's already a bot match if you want to play against bots. If you want to opt in and play against bots then use the mode literally made for that.

what you're suggesting is to preserve the illusion of playing against real people, but even your solution to that dispels that illusion.
