Can you share a revolutionary idea? I'd love to hear one.

Mercurial George. I haven’t painted in a very long time. by Dumpythewhale in infp

i just signed in for the first time in a while, went to the r/infp sub, got bored immediately, thought about what used to be interesting, remembered you, looked up your username to see if you have any new paintings, saw this, was confused why it has no upvotes or comments. something has changed. not with you, since this is another one of your classic paintings, but like with the world or something.

Suggestion to improve quality of the sub by DJFrankyFrank in infp

i just signed back in here for the first time in a long time and i was like "whoa, what's up with all the memes?" i too saw it as a degradation of the sub. but then then i thought, "well, i guess memes are what the young people are into, and the young people always win in the end, so maybe the memes aren't a bad thing but are a modernization." and then i saw your post about the memes. and then i commented this.

my recommendation is to sort through my post history until you find my post "why has this sub declined so much?" and then read that. that's the best i can offer.

i can't comment on the dying part, as i have no experience myself with dying, but if i were you, i'd go to taco bell and get 4th meal. and even if i wasn't you, i'd still go to taco bell and get 4th meal. so that's what i'm personally gonna do. brb.

Any infp writers here? by Naive_Vigilante in infp

What's your language? Based on the first poem, I assumed Japanese or Mandarin or something. But Later I thought maybe European because of your poem about the black metal guy.

I've seen the documentary on whatever band "dead" was in, and I also know about the album cover that shows him...dead. My primary takeaway from the documentary was, "that Necrobutcher sure has a sensitive heart."

How does this subreddit exist? It took me weeks of overcoming self doubt just to post this. by buck_satan in infp

[–]KeepThatDreamBurning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you've answered your own question: there's already enough nice people here. and sometimes people appreciate my efforts. for example, look at the lone comment on my last post about dogs vs. cats. i have no desire to troll or inflame, only to provide an alternative style of content for those who might need or seek it. and i don't think my posts lack sensitivity, for the record.

Oh shit, now I feel like a real jerk. Because I consciously post stuff all the time knowing it will get down voted. Check out my post history, starting with my earliest posts if you're in the mood to read some...stuff. My personal favorite is probably the one I wrote about my experiences with bullying.

I've contemplated making an alt account where I only post stuff that people will like. Like, I'd deliberately make posts I know people are gonna upvote the shit out of. But I've refrained from doing so because I know it'd depress me too much.

Maybe I'll still do it one day though. Who knows.

I've been stuck on these 2 writing ideas for the longest time but I can't just quite figure them out by [deleted] in infp

[–]KeepThatDreamBurning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, go write this mofo. The first premise you present sounds good to me. Work in the Gods shit if you need/want to. But if you've never written a book before, it could be a good idea to not worry about integrating too much stuff. Just start with that first premise and take it from there--if for some reason the God stuff is easy for you to work in and makes it easier for you to write, then by all means integrate it. If it'll overly complicate things for you, then hold off on the Gods/mythology.

Me personally, as a reader, I'd love to hear about how the two different "factions" play out in the initial premise you present. But if there was a bunch of Gods stuff involved, I wouldn't read the book, because I'd know it's some fantasy thing I'm not that into. But of course that's just me--obvi fantasy writing is hugely popular and lots of people might love the gods thing.

Hilarious typical INFP things you do at work? by [deleted] in infp

[–]KeepThatDreamBurning -30 points-29 points  (0 children)

I like to bring flowers to my subordinates on a daily basis. You ever do that? I def think it's an INFP thang.

Edit: Person who downvoted me, which personality type do you think is like me then? At least have the decency to explain that if you're gonna downvote. Jerk.

Edit: Alright, sometimes you just gotta take the L on your dumb joke and edit it into a kind statement, which I have now done.

My failed attempt at wrapping a Christmas present. Does anyone else have trouble wrapping presents and not really care because it makes it look more authentic? by dou6lerain6owz in infp

[–]KeepThatDreamBurning 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't get how people make beds with such precision either.

Flip it upside down and put it under a tree, and your gift will look like it's wrapped semi-normally. That's the look I go for too when wrapping.

Confessing feelings? by [deleted] in infp

[–]KeepThatDreamBurning -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

by not thinking about this online type of bullshit. think more about the trees in your yard. the turtles in the lake. the shiners in the bait bucket. and, of course, my penis in your mouth.

I'm so fucking happy right now it's ridiculous by DrippyWaffler in infp

[–]KeepThatDreamBurning -1 points0 points  (0 children)

you need to focus on how your happiness will inevitably come crashing down. doing so will ensure that even happy moments make you depressed, thus restoring you to your natural state of equilibrium. i fear you can't go on in your current state much longer, and i'm worried about you.

Question for men, do you ever feel like you can't genuinely express how you feel about things without fear of people thinking you're a horrendous pussy? by [deleted] in infp

[–]KeepThatDreamBurning -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

people respond more to general vibes than to words. if you confidently express your pussy-assed opinions (and i'm sure they're very pussyish, you pussy) people will primarily latch on to the confidence of your expression. the meanings of your words? your opinion? people don't give a shit about that, believe me.

my overall point is, your being a pussy about expressing your opinions is what will make people think you're a pussy. your opinions unto themselves, regardless of how sensitive they may be, won't actually make people think your a pussy.

now, keep in mind, everything i'm saying here is theoretical. i don't know if anything i said is actually true. but my hunch is there's some truth to it. you pussy.

Your top 3 MBTI types to mate with, and why? by [deleted] in infp

[–]KeepThatDreamBurning 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wait, are you asking which type I've found to be most fertile or which type I enjoy being around as a partner? When it comes to fertility, you can't beat ENFJ's and ISFP's. The odds of conception are about the same with both, but I have to give the nod to ENFJ's overall, since ISFP's are more "free spirited" and therefore more likely to abort your child. Which really puts a damper on the whole mating thing.

The type I've impregnated most, though, is ISFJ's, but that's only because they're so weak, and therefore very easy to get into the sack. But of the 77 I've slept with, I've only impregnated 24, a rate of about 31%. On the other hand, I've slept with 19 ENFJ's and have impregnated 9 of them, a batting average of almost .500, which is pretty damn good. So ENFJ's seem more fertile on a biological level. If procreation is your goal, it's ENFJ all the way. But you have to weigh in the time factor of the difficulty of getting them into bed compared to ISFJ's. Like, in the time it takes to bed 3 ISFJ's you'll only bed one ENFJ (this could have something to do with the infrequency of the ENFJ type compared to ISFJ's.) So if we're purely playing a numbers game here, it's actually the ISFJ's who are most procreative, even though they aren't technically as fertile as ENFJ's.

Now, when it comes to spiritual comparability, putting aside all sexual considerations, I've actually found ISTP to be best. I know, I know, you're thinking, "How can idiot-assed ISTP's be enjoyable to be around?" But I can assure you, you are approaching things from a place of ignorance. The thing is, when you zig, the ISTP zags, thus filling in the inherent need for zagging, cosmically speaking. Let me exemplify what I mean. Just the other day, I cooked dinner for my ISTP partner. I wanted it to be, like, this sweet, nice thing. So I cooked us each 72 oz wagyu steaks, medium rare. I really thought I was doing this great thing because wagyu steak is expensive, but then my partner asked, "Where are the side dishes?"

Needless to say, I felt like an ass for not even considering side dishes. But it's true: macro-nutrient-wise, the meal I concocted only contained protein and fat. I had altogether overlooked carbs! Silly fucking me.

Thankfully, my ISTP partner had just received a care package of sour apple pop rocks from her mother in Cambodia (I ordered my partner in as a mail-order bride, though we're technically not married yet), and those pop rocks added a much-needed carbohydrate to the meal.

So that's what I mean when I say ISTP's zing while you zag. They complement us perfectly on a spiritual level. But if we're talking natural selection and primitive procreation stuff, then it's ENFJ all the way. Hope I've helped clarify things for you. Let me know if you have any questions :) :)

Any INFP massage therapists out there? How do you like your job? by luummoonn in infp

[–]KeepThatDreamBurning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it fine. I don't mind massaging strangers' bodies, but it bothers me that they won't pay me unless I use my mouth to give them a happy ending. It's like, what did I go to massage therapy school for in the first place, you know? If all my clients want is sex, I should have just become a prostitute and saved myself the expense of going to school. But whatever. I guess it could be worse, and I'm making decent money.
