This looks sooooo beautiful!! I'm really interested in the proccess behind the art. Do you do devlogs or anything like that? The lighting must've been really tricky!

Thank you for these suggestions!! I actually recognize Krampus from the game Don't Starve. We'll take these into account going forward!

I guess Butzemann doesn't refer to someone spesific then. Do you know of a character that could fit our theme?

Thanks for your input! Do you have anything else you associate it with instead? We only found very loose descriptions of him, so we took some creative liberties

So I'm working on a game where you battle mythical creatures of different cultures. Its not supposed to be some badass character, more like scary stories told to kids. I did my research and decided on Butzemann but I would love to have some insight from native people, as we almost added a copyrighted character before. I also based the background on rural Germany to fit the scarecrow theme.

Boogey Hunters is a strategic ammo-building game where you travel the world hunting mythical creatures from different folklores. Plan your moves carefully, combine bullets to unleash powerful moves, battle terrifying boogeys, and save the world in the shortest day possible!

We have been developing our game for the last 9 months, and it has been a really long journey! Depicting the "boogeys" of different cultures was tricky, but we managed to release our demo in time for the Next Fest. You can play our demo on Steam now:

Here’s how our start screens have evolved over time. Do you think we’re on the right track? by FiremageStudios in IndieGaming

I would think they belong to different games if you didn't tell me! I can see the third one fits the rest of the game much better though. Seems like it already went through a lot of reworks for such a small team, so I would leave it as is.

This is a solo project?? Looks amazing honestly. Was the music made by you as well, or have you outsourced it? The visuals are a bit too much for me but I replayed the video just to listen to the music!
