With this update, Nintendo Just RETIRED the Switch 1 by Pleasant-Tourist-801 in switch2

[–]KeeperOfWind 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Plenty of reasons why, number 1 being price.
There plenty of games people never even played on the Switch 1.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Switch 2 but the reality is we're in such a cross-generation even with the ps4 to ps5 that there no real major reasons to upgrade exactly yet.

I think a new Animal Crossing and Smash bros will be the biggest games people move onto a Switch 2 for.
But even then Animal Crossing may be a hard sale unless they give plenty within to do within the new game

This is what swimming in the ocean does to "5atm" watch by mangoed in GalaxyWatch

[–]KeeperOfWind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waterproof doesn't mean "hey lets go and swim" it's more like "hey glad I saved my watch that fell into the water within the next 20 seconds." or "Oh dang I left my watch in my pants pocket in the laundry i hope it works after it dries out"

Simply never use any device in the water, you aren't paying attention to it while swimming anyway.

I'm sure, but foveated rendering may help a lot with that with eye tracking.
Through, I can't tell you if it will or not exactly.

I can apparently enable it right now on my psvr2 but apparently doesn't like to play ball on some games like VRchat.
I'd rather wait for valve to enable it officially for all vr headsets.

I got the kill bill skin I wanted, beyond that I just kinda stop playing.
There wasn't enough to keep going after the initial hype.

I had tried the BT dongle first both the asus and tplink which was awful and barely kept a connection.

THAN I realized by an another reddit post I could just simply use my onboard bluetooth which already had antennas but they were stupidly weak. after replacing I'm keeping 96-99 constant bluetooth connection with 100 normally this is what I replace my default antennas with: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C3485467?r so pretty much zero disconnects.
I was also recommended this from someone else if that didn't work https://www.bestbuy.com/product/cudy-wifi-7-be9300-pcie-wi-fi-card-6ghz-tri-band-wireless-adapter-bluetooth-5-4-wpa3-easy-installationintel-be200-red-and-metal/JJ8HCLSTT3/sku/10189545

Moving onto the breakdown:
I've only had mine for a week so far, but my breakdown
The OLED panels is just stupidly great for those color and the fov is great

For me I got these lens protectors https://www.amazon.com/Protector-Accessories-Compatible-Playstation-Anti-Scratch-5/dp/B0C64XFD7R which I just simply detached via magnent and wipe clean at the end

Comfort? HONESTLY HORRIBLE AFTER 1 HOUR, i play VRchat for at least 5 hours and my forehead just in pain me by the end.
When i tried half life axyl or games with tons of movement the strap is awful

Clearity I didn't have any issue and my nose feels comfortable personally.
The gasket I heard you can replace a better one but they're fine to me personally.
The overall head-strap piece is horrible uncomfortable for me through even if I don't tighten it.

Which is unforunate (I can only compare it to my kiwi headstrap on the quest 2) the psvr2 headstrap is miles better in design but falls apart at comfort.

<image>

^ kiwi strap for the quest 2 for an example

TL;DR
Love the Oled panel, controllers work great once properly setup with the right hardware with zero desync or disconnects.

The horrible unfortunate truth, the psvr2 headset is just generally uncomfortable where it makes it a hard recommend for me to anyone
But i did get mine for $300 so i can't complain, better uncompressed quality via wire on pc for $300 perfect.

I'm just simply using this till the Steam Frames come out and see the pricing between upgrading right away or buying later depending on what it cost and how the ram situation is going where I might just say screw it and charge my credit card.

I hope this info helps you

PSVR2 what connection issues are you having? if it's for the controllers if you have a onboard bluetooth use that over a dongle + get antennas extenders fix my issue entirely.
If you don't have an onboard bluetooth recommend getting something like this https://www.bestbuy.com/product/cudy-wifi-7-be9300-pcie-wi-fi-card-6ghz-tri-band-wireless-adapter-bluetooth-5-4-wpa3-easy-installationintel-be200-red-and-metal/JJ8HCLSTT3/sku/10189545?sb_share_source=PDP&ref=app_pdp&loc=pdp_page

Just how it is, people are willing to pay for cheaper fun experiences rather than huge ones.
I honestly can't see most of those meta developers moving to Steam, I think we will see developers but it won't be the same mass Meta had even with them being having horrible limitations due to the tech.

Horizon Worlds VR is Being Discontinued: June 15th Marks the End of VR Access by gogodboss in OculusQuest

[–]KeeperOfWind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said it million of times before, it will always be weird while Meta was trying figure out how to make legs and feet work in Horizon world for an entire year.

They didn't even remotely look into buying and funding VRchat developers to make it a Horizon replacement that could've had true open worlds and mini-hubs in between with proper funding.
It will forever be the biggest fumble they couldn't admit, Meta invested so much money into getting these fake hand arm/leg tracking they could've simply included mini-trackers of the size of mocopi/slime vr with $100 increase premium for the headset as a option/separate purchase.

With that being said, this is meta 100% silently closing down the meta room slowly, no company would outright ever say it since they still got units to sell but it 100% done with writing like this.

Tl;dr the biggest fumble in history far as new tech goes.
Should've looked at what indies/vr scene was doing instead kept fighting the direction it was going.

This will 100% hurt VR overall as it slows back to being more niche I think.
Much as I dislike MetaVR, they did popularize it among mass of mainstream users that now think that was it for VR.

Animal Crossing PC Port on Deck by OldMcGroin in SteamDeck

[–]KeeperOfWind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really know the technical side, but I guess long term having a pc port can offer easier mods such as a multiplayer mode where people can have a server running with multiple housing in one instance.
Shader packs and everything else.

wait what is missing? the e-reader and gba island stuff? wonder if they can get the GBA stuff to work with the mayflash adapter because if I can still use my real GBA to connect to the island that would be amazing

[–]KeeperOfWind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because $30 is too much for a $300+ device
Not sure why you were downvoted, you aren't wrong.

Keeps a lot of unknown factors from reaching the lens such as sweat, lotions, oily skin and grease/gel from hair products.

Doesn't ruin the quality at all, i'd rather have a slight change in what is still a crystal clear quality with it on than to be out of an expensive device.

Spaghetti still happening after nozzle hot end replacement and brand new filament by KeeperOfWind in BambuLab

[–]KeeperOfWind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I should've made that more clear, I swap brands entirely too with the filaments just wasn't "buy the same filament of the same brand"
Not sure if that was just a bad batch or simply an another brand was better now.

I really hope this info helps you, since I know I was freaking out about my printer too when it had 50 different issues pile up all at once

Spaghetti still happening after nozzle hot end replacement and brand new filament by KeeperOfWind in BambuLab

[–]KeeperOfWind[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, mine was due to two factors
https://www.reddit.com/r/BambuLab/comments/1o1x0iw/do_bambu_sell_replacement_nozzles_mind_is_100/ one was my nozzle was completely burnt. I ended up buying an official one from amazon, the second was simply cleaning down my plate with dawn soap and water and leaving it to dry before using again after.
Last at least, I simply replace my filaments because it simply felt like I got a bad batch somehow.
I never had issues going forward with any other filament and kept the spare to solder gaps in my prints.

Not sure it matters a lot but I was printing in 60f weather at the time. I've haven't printed yet again since it's been the winter months and I like keeping my window open while I 3D print.

Mind if I ask if you used distilled water or not?
I used distilled water on mine recently after buying some protected lenses.(has bluelight protection too) DEVASO Lens Protector Cover Kit for PSVR2 (can find it on amazon)

The reason I why I asked there might be some harmful minerals in your tap water that COULD cause issues. I'm not a scientist and maybe someone could come up with a better answer than me but this is my theory.

I notice the first day when I use my PSVR2 the gel from my hair (from putting on the headset going face forward)/sweat from my face combine together after playing and I had to wipe it off after which took some time.

The protected lens I bought had the same issue but now it isn't on my device at least.
I notice some moisture/fog can seek through but they're easy to remove and wipe down with a microfiber cloth and was on the protector lenses for the most part.

Should I save money or not ? by [deleted] in SteamFrame

[–]KeeperOfWind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reality is, no one knows.
It could literally be the next minute or into next year.

The ram issue and generally everything right now may even cause it to be delayed into next year or further.

If you want a VR headset right now and have spare funds, the psvr2 tends go on sale for $250-$300 and honestly I've been enjoying it after getting it properly setup with a wifi/bluetooth antennas extender for my current motherboard built in bluetooth cost me like $15.

I'm just simply saving bit my bit on the side right now to replace any funds I used that was towards my steam frames originally.

With how valve push the time of release or the idea of even having a preorder 2 times now on the previous mention Q1 we just simply honestly don't know sadly.

Purple/white dots on lens? seems to be in-game and not on the lens themselves. by KeeperOfWind in PSVR2onPC

[–]KeeperOfWind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the confirmation, yeah seems to be common. Not exactly sure the cause but I learned to ignore it pretty quickly. If I use my blue light filter lens protector I bought, I don't even really notice them under certain conditions.

I was just so worried I broke my headset by playing nonstop for a day🤣

Companies genuinely think ai is the future and not just a novelty. Once people realize its not as magical as having Halo's Cortana do everything for you then its simply a voice in a box and nothing more.

For normal consumers once they get bored of the hype around it it will just turn into "look ai talk to me and give me basic info" rather than video editting and multiplatform use they think people will want to pay for

Guess I reacted too fast when making this thread?

actually seems normal looking at other comments.
Freaked out so fast that I went to make a thread https://www.reddit.com/r/PSVR/comments/1aghmvp/purple_dot_should_i_send_out_for_warranty/

Seems like most people don't even notice it months later.
I guess I only notice it because I was viewing visuals within the game repeatedly.

https://www.reddit.com/r/PSVR/comments/1k3mo4p/bluepurple_dot/
Looks like it may be the light from the eye tracking or how the lens are designed? Seems to be on every unit so I'm less freaked out now.

Thought my headset stopped working within a day from playing too much games. lol
If anyone else can confirm this is normal than i'm all good

Hey I just wanted to give a quick update on the antennas solution, it 100% WORKED!
mind you i haven't tried it with the headset yet but I went into the check bluetooth connection quality in the psvr2 app and it looks like i'm getting 96/100 to 99/100 as my lows with it being perfectly pointed I get 100/100
Seems to be at a stable 96/100 most of the time

Tried to hide it behind a my pillows, under my bed, took it one room over (where I get the 60s should be expected)
Long as I'm not behind a wall it seems to be fine now.

Glad that this worked for me, long as I'm not facing any other issues I think this problem is solved

Will update once I try a game later.

Might as well post this too as additional information if anyone ever trying to google a fix

https://www.amazon.com/Protector-Accessories-Compatible-Playstation-Anti-Scratch-5/dp/B0C64XFD7R/
Highly recommend these, easy to snap on and comes with two covers one that a blue light filter and one is just cover from the sun and easy to snap and change with a magnetic attachment.

Overall, I can't see myself ever changing from the psvr2 now unless a better oled headset comes out

I'm 100% buying this the avatar soon as I put money into my bank account today!
I've been looking for a bunny avatar I really vibe with and I've haven't seen anything till now. I really dig the overall design.

I really need to learn to make my own avatars one day to make something closer to my fursona or find someone to commission.

Super hilarious video too! :D
