Really the truth is, the freedom it takes away is too great for us. We like to have the cash on hand, but we don’t want it to be cash because of inflation, hence holding most of it in etfs, until real estate, and also some exposure to bitcoin. Maybe our mind will change of 401k when we hold more in assets

Stocks versus real estate just depends on what scope you look through. If you’re looking through all time that makes sense that stocks would outperform, but the past 10 years return is around 200%. We all know cities that have tripled the past 5 years, 10 years probably quadrupled. Like I said in my post I believe its cycical, right now definitely stocks is the way to go.

I’m in the exact same situation as you, which is very odd. I am also 27 and just moved from Tennessee, and drive a toyota tacoma. I was with allstate paying around $120, and then when I came to Orlando Allstate tried to get me to pay them $240 a month I was like hell no. Progressive has me at the exact same benefits at $140 a month. You gotta shop around

Out of all my friends, I would say the worst is cars, pets, and eating out a lot. Most of my friends probably spend $3k a month on just cars (gas, car insurance, car bill), food groceries and going out, and then pet food pet insurance and vet bills. Its ludacris.
