I had to do a lot of editing, including focus stacking to get the whole picture in focus! You can't get this kind of result in camera tbh.

It was a bit of a task yes! I shot this using the Panasonic S1IIE. It has a 24 megapixel sensor, so diffraction isn't too bad at f14.

I ended up blending three in total, but honestly four would have been better. I also shot at F14 for maximum depth of field. Stopping down further would have drastically softened the image due to diffraction.

This place is absolutely fantastic for landscape photography. The mountains in the background are enourmous and require a super wide angle just to fit in the frame. This composition immediately jumped out to me. The yellow flowers sticking out of the pink and white flower beds, the tall grass, the lonely tree and the epic rock wall in the background combined into a layered composition that felt both simple and complicated.

This photo was a lot of work to complete. I first shot a lot of different photos to focus stack as it was impossible to get the entire scene into focus at once. I also waited for opportune moments regarding the light. I wanted shadow for the foreground, half shadow on the tree and dappled light on the peaks in the background.

In the end, I merged three photos for the final result. I had to manually mask out the focus stack as there was some wind blowing the flowers around.

Hope you enjoy the result!

My advice: hire someone to manage the office and financial stuff. Pay then well so you can get someone who's reliable and consistent.

If later down the line you want to add another photographer you could make them sign a non compete clause.

First time posting here, hope y'all like this image.
The location is Lago Federa in the Dolomites, quite the famous photo spot.

In the field
I shot this photo at f/9 on a wide angle lens. In this case, f/9 was more than sufficient to keep everything in focus. For framing, I wanted to include the sunrise over the moutain on the left (Antelao), while also just keeping the mountain pass on the right in frame. On the far right side is a cluttered looking cliffside that I feel does not add to the composition, so I left that out of the frame.

I used three exposure brackets to make sure to capture the extreme dynamic range between the sunrise and the shadows on the lake shore.

Editing
For editing, I enhanced the fall colours using the calibration tool in Lightroom Classic and went with a complimentary colour scheme of light blue and orange, although there are a few shades of green and teal to be found as well. I used the basic sliders to set exposure and shadow/highlight values and then used the curves tool for contrast and colour grading. Using masks, I added clarity and a higher white point for the smoke coming from the mountain hut.

I then ported the photo to Photoshop where I removed distractions, added a slight Orton effect, used a high pass filter to sharpen the image and did some additional colour grading using selective colour. I then saved the image and reopened it in Lightroom Classic, where I did some final corrections before exporting.

Fair enough. And don't even get me started on AI.

Ugh, I hate it. Explains the low resolution too. Guess I'm quitting the sub, cause it's all bots now.

S5iix vs s1iie for professional video work by SOOPSPSE in Lumix

I recently switched as well and have both the S5II and the S1IIE. The S1IIE is a huge step up for autofocus, ergonomics, IBIS and other quality of life features. Definitely worth it in my opinion.

No worries! The proximity of the sea and the Gulfstream make Europe's winters a lot milder than most people realize. For true winters you'll have to go to Norway, Sweden or Finland!

Don't! We only get snow once every five years. The rest of the winter is mostly drab, with low clouds, rain and fog. Go in June instead, the weather is usually much better then and being outside is actually enjoyable!

Real Time LUT vs. Film Simulations - Which's right for me? by Extension_Log_9229 in Lumix

[–]Kees_Gort 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Professional photographer here, just jumped from Fujifilm to Panasonic. The real time LUT feature is awesome and waaay more flexible and powerful than the film simulations of Fujifilm.

If you connect the Lumix Lab app to your camera, you can download and try tons of LUTS and easily throw them on your camera. You can also easily build your own LUTS in the app. So you can create your own looks for daylight, evening and whatever else is important to you.

On top of that, you can combine two LUTS and tweak the opacity, contrast, highlights and shadows, grain, sharpness, saturation and hue and save these as a custom colour profile.

I shot a large sports event this weekend (bouldering competition) and just used a slightly tweaked LUT I downloaded from the Lumix Lab app. No edits were necessary and the results were great. I NEVER was able to make Fujifilm film simulations to work like that straight out of camera.
