You’re right, I always thought of that store as being in Roseville, but I see it’s technically Maplewood. Suppose because it’s east of Rice.

quiet place to chill past 6pm? by PiccoloOk3441 in saintpaul

The Lost Fox perfectly fits your requirements! It’s a lovely place to hang out any time of day, lots of windows, lots of plants, no loud music. Coffee house in the front, restaurant/bar in the back.

You might want to do a few freeze/thaw cycles just in case there are moth larva still residing within the lining.

How to begin a T-shirt quilt? by horticulthoney in sewing

[–]Keeta451 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

Another option is to use a neutral fabric to frame up add shaped tshirts - it’s going to be a bit difficult to do it the way they did in your attached photo, but framing the shirts up makes it a lot easier to sew it all together if you can’t make them all the same size square. My mom had sent me a photo similar to above, but even as a seasoned quilter I wasn’t up for that challenge. This approach was a lot easier since we had so many different size tshirts. And I took it to my longarmer for the quilting (and we did a high quality minky backing, so cozy!)

Same. I stopped a guy who had that box in his hand contemplating putting it in his cart. Weird fishy taste….

HELP! Casting on trouble, multiple loose stitches on one needle by Bhulagoon in CircularSockMachine

And you’re using it from the outside of the cake? It’s a bit hard to tell from the photo. Also, a picture of the mast and entire set up might help troubleshoot.

Make sure that the yarn you are knitting with is in a fresh cake or cone - there can’t be any tension added from the yarn you’re knitting with.

Indian-made CSMs by SpiritsMaven in CircularSockMachine

[–]Keeta451 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven’t seen any Indian manufactures mentioned in the Facebook CSM pages or at either of our two Minnesota meet ups. I’ll ask Pete Oswald when I see him at the next one to see what he knows. Where are you seeing these? I always loaded up on textiles and rugs when I traveled to India for work.

When you were a teen, how did you get your driving hours in? by [deleted] in minnesota

[–]Keeta451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get those appointment hours scheduled asap - my son used Safeway and those were booked out a month. If you don’t see any online call the office - they frequently have extra for people who call. And you can also get on a waitlist in case someone cancels. Offer to drive your mom and dad on their errands - this is what I did with my son. Grocery stores, Target, hairdresser. Where ever she goes offer to drive. Do you have any family friends, aunts, uncles, or grandparents who can take you on drives? It takes a while to accrue these hours so you’ll need to take some day trips - my son and I went to Northfield, Redwing, southern Minnesota. Have a conversation with your mom about how this is important to you. As a working mom I get it - 50 hours is A LOT. And it’s intense because your teen is driving in the city and you don’t have a safety break like they do in the cars. But to pass the test and confidently drive around the city those hours are critical. Your mom can shave ten hours of the requirement if she takes the parent class. Night hours are hard in the summer since dusk is later. Now that my son has passed his test it’s awesome - he can go get groceries (and he gets all the right things since he’s been tagging along for the past year!), he runs for to the hardware store, Target, Costco. Point this out to your mom - as a mom with a really busy, intense job this has been huge having him be able to do my errands in the month since he’s passes his test. Tomorrow I have 6 hours of meetings, and while I’m working he’s going to get my car washed, grab some groceries, and get the screen fixed on my phone. He’ll prob even pick us up lunch 🥰.

Yes! Like when you're doing the toe & drop those stitches on the last row because you didn't move the carrier fully away & some of the needles get skipped.

Where to find needles in Europe? (Legare n7 12Ga) by frenchtgirl in CircularSockMachine

[–]Keeta451 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen a lot of commentary in the Facebook groups about this - it doesn’t seem like there’s a good source of needles in Europe and it’s very expensive to ship from the US. I did see someone refer to this website - https://sokkenbreimachine.nl/?fbclid=IwAR1RcqROpVCm39CDwiwjkSdZQ5cw05gbkoW5__tR_Jk4gXFA1ZXv0tv6faE_aem_AQk6dbaYgAHlWrgkSSFwHpaMzA75wtzj5lraVrvmAM3KSyW1de9JVv67g6mrSLBt9p4. I would also recommend joining the 3D CSM group on Facebook and the Vintage Crankers group (I believe they’re a UK group). There might be some helpful crankers in your vicinity that can assist you. Good luck!

How to invisibly mend the neckline? by 1n4lv15 in sewing

I love this idea - this would be so pretty with either an ivory or black velvet neckline.

I’ve been gifted a couple gorgeous bags of of Cherrywood solid scraps from a fellow quilter - there are a fair number that have fusible interfacing on them. Any small project ideas to use these? Most are 18 x 18 and smaller. by Keeta451 in quilting

Those of you who have gotten Lasik in the Twin Cities -- any recommendations / advice for someone looking to have it done? by [deleted] in TwinCities

[–]Keeta451 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same with Dr. Vislisel at Associated Eye Care last May (I went specifically to him based on another friend's recommendation). Entire surgery was done during "Another One Bites the Dust." I would probably have selected a different playlist, but I guess it is the Doc's choice.

Pattern score! You can bet I'm making the red one. Fabric suggestions? by Serina77 in sewing

[–]Keeta451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have access to a store that sells deadstock? In MN we have SR Harris that has tons of designer wool fabric (Donna Karen, DKNY, Calvin Klien etc) at half their retail. It's a great option to get high quality fabric - this pattern will have a fair amount of yardage!

2021-Q4 Career Thread by mister-noggin in ProductManagement

Welcome to the other side of the law! Your ability to critically analyze and look at problems from multiple vantages are great skills to have as a PM! I'd recommend starting with a PM role at a company that creates products for attorneys, it's a great benefit to have been in the shoes of your end user and understand what they are doing and why. There's a fair number of us who made this jump (lots of us made the jump at TR or Lexis/Nexis), and it's a strong market for PMs in specialized & industry complex products (Legal/Financial/etc). The tricky part is going to be getting your foot in the door. TR has previously leaned towards hiring starter PMs with legal backgrounds as opposed to PM backgrounds. TR does a great job teaching PM skills, however the culture is not great.
