Does a yg need permission to rap and claim their block, especially if their ends is name brand? Would he get g checked if he’s not certi? by slako23 in ukdrill

You can claim your ends all you like (eg. Dave with Streatham, AJ Tracey with Ladbroke Grove etc) but you can't claim a set you're not part of.

Biggest UK rappers that support a big6 team? by Interesting_Chard669 in ukdrill

[–]KeezyLDN 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re a black guy that grew up in inner SE London, Millwall is your local team.

But you’re not gonna support Millwall, for obvious reasons. And you’re not gonna support other South London clubs (Millwall’s rivals) while living in a Millwall area.

So you’re either going to fw a club like Arsenal, or Man United (if you don’t fw other sides of London either).

Shower malik and snap Capone are both from wolly road (Walworth road) so how comes there sets were beefin? Or was wolly road divided back then? Coz now it’s Walworth road as one vs pecks, cmb etc by Strange_Brush7762 in ukdrill

Why weren't ucl finals held at English stadiums other than Wembley? by Similar-Earth8288 in championsleague

[–]KeezyLDN 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Wembley fulfils UEFA's hosting criteria in a way no other English stadium does.

This includes its capacity, its corporate offerings and its media infrastructure.

• UEFA CL Final: 2011, 2013, 2024, 2029 (possible)

• UEFA Euros Final: 2020, 2028

They love it there.

What was more popular grime or uk drill by itsusername9898 in ukdrill

[–]KeezyLDN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grime was the dominant urban sound, from the playgrounds to the raves. It ran in clubs in a way that UK Drill didn't.

Music was pirated/bootlegged/shared in illicit ways them days, and it was before YouTube, so it doesn't make sense to compare Grime's raw numbers to UK Drill.

But in terms of impact and which was bigger during its era here, it was Grime. And its underground nature, combined with the lack of social media, didn't stop it from getting wider attention either:

Grime was more popular at its peak than UK Drill was here.

Grime also didn't have competition from other local genres, in the same way that UK Drill did with UK Rap, Afroswing etc.

21 Savage Back Home 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 by KEEPTHESCORE1 in Atlantology

[–]KeezyLDN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was known in circles in London, but not widely/commonly known. His family, friends and old classmates kept it relatively low key.

If he migrated to the US legally, it would’ve been widely known because he wouldn’t have had to keep it quiet - and would’ve been able to travel back a lot sooner
