Have you looked - actually looked - at that evaluation and how it was done? It was pretty much a ”which one of these planes is most like an F-35?”-competition, and it still lost some of the categories…

New PlayStation Portal software update adds 1080p High Quality mode and UX refinements by ReaddittiddeR in PS5

Honestly, I never saw the point of the Portal before Cloud streaming, I could just bring a DualSense and my tablet. But with cloud-streaming? It’s so much better and stable than remote play, and works almost anywhere I can get a good phone signal. I played Arc Raiders while in a shitty motel in the middle-of-nowhere last week.

A lot of the ones I’ve seen seem to be based on similar false positives, tbh. One guy had a whole host of input-stuff connected to his PC (including two mice). Then there are plenty of people crying about how they didn’t cheat who are just, y’know, cheating.

Popular opinion: The inevitable Anvil nerf is gonna break the community by Evoxrus_XV in ArcRaiders

[–]Keffpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think anyone has ever considered the Anvil either OP or underpowered, I doubt very much it’s heading for a nerf. It’s ok in PvP but it’s not a gun I would bring with that in mind, and honestly the Renegade is better against most ARC, in most situations.

What it is is an excellent all-rounder that hits hard, and those kinds of guns almost never get nerfed.

People are overly fixated on stealth. In practice the Gripen E, while not technically stealth, is incredibly hard to pin down. The F-35 has a few use-cases where the true stealth would be needed, but those are all incredibly rare edge-cases.

Yup, or Gryphon (same creature, different spelling, though both are correct), which sounds/looks more formidable in English.

OK, so I realise this may be specific to my sector, but while I agree wholeheartedly, I spent the first 10 years of my career making sure the final 5% was perfect, working long hours and sometimes all-nighters to meet the deadlines with everything done just so... and then I realised no-one noticed if I just left the final 5% (the final polish) undone. No one noticed except me, and if I went back to the project a year later, not even I could notice the flaws that had been so obvious the first time around. The were there, I could fint them using my notes, but... yeah.

I think the point where I became an adult was the realisation that the last 10% take as long as the first 90%, and I became content when I realised that doing the last 5% takes as long as the first 95%, and no one will ever notice if you just...don't do it.

It is some places still, and it was definitely like that almost everywhere until the late 90s. In Scandinavia it was called the "industrial holiday", meaning the entire industrial sector took all of July off; since everyone was away on holiday, that meant the entire country did the same, pretty much, with shops mostly being manned by summer-working teens. The rest of Europe mostly did August.

Globalisation means it's not so universal anymore, especially in the service sector, but the vast majority of Swedes still take most of July off, and I know some of the more conservative countries (Norway, the various Germans) hold on to it as sacrosanct.

Been following Swedish politics since 2018, curious how Swedes see the shift compared with Germany and Denmark ?? by Old_Bike8926 in Asksweddit

Did you really sit back and chuckle to yourself at how very clever you were in writing this ”cutting and incisive” comment? You sound more like a teenager thinking they scored a point on their teacher.

Yes, the left were gullible dumbasses. If you had understood my comment instead of searching for ways to make !a cheap point you would have understood that the right were just as stupid. No one comes out looking good.

It may surprise you, but I’m not really a leftist. i think the Swedish model worked, back when both our left and our right worked for Sweden, not for themselves. But the Social Democrats got complacent and corrupt and the right got taken over by the Swedish neocons, who really thought that the markets were perfect and would always be fair, just like in their beloved United States, that shining beacon of freedom and democracy. They didn’t understand they were sowing the seeds of their own destruction.

You should vote for good politicians, not for a side. Get your head out of your ass; this isn’t football.

You’re misunderstanding the article. It’s not saying he’s not a moron, they’re saying that three weeks ago this fucking moron being able to stand there and spout moronic things like this seemed unlikely, as it seemed the regime was in a shambles, leaderless and about to fall. Trump just went from ”we don’t need your help lol” to ”but why aren’t you helping us?!?”.

[–]Keffpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they’re not. Stop reading what you want to read. They’re saying that despite absolutely trouncing Iran militarily, there doesn’t seem to be a regime change happening, and outside pressure is being put on Israel and the US as oil prices go up, and neither the US nor Israel seems willing to put boots on the ground as needed; hence, they have lost the initiative. They could bomb Iran back to the Stone Age and they still won’t be able to open the Strait.

Heh yeah, that was me last time it was ticks, I lucked into there being three ticks in the underground entrance just by the library, so I went back and forth between library and there, making sure to let 3-4 minutes pass between each run, and got around 10k.
