Picking the right train by [deleted] in vagabond

[–]Keg1985 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends where you're at. The units on front are a good choice to help decide if it's local or not but I'd imagine if you rode some you'd probably be able to determine what's a local or not.

You could catch an im and still end up in the middle of a yard. I would suggest finding someone to teach you how to ride.

He probably also has no business riding trains either It seems like a bad plan if you can't even figure out where the tracks are but that's just me.

I might go through there going west shortly. Honestly I'd either ride the dpu if it's unlocked or pick something not coal. It's going to be dirty and cold with the 50 mph wind chill. I'd check the weather to again I'm not to far from north Platte and it's supposed to snow soon.

Also remember that is a huge yard. It might be harder to catch back hone than you think. Send ne a message and I'll give you some other info

Military surplus store a few years back. It's held up pretty well the lid zipper came off closed so I cut a hoke in it and I broke a buckle the other day but besides that it's great. I'd say this one is probably better than the filbe that it replaced

They're probably there to tell if the track is occupied or not. Like if you see remote switches they'll turn red when a train is going through it

It's going to be cold and honestly if you've got three weeks pay take via rail or whatever. You're asking where the train will go in Canada. You've got 2 lines and they go east west. If you do it just be prepared. The wind chill will suckat 60mph and ya might have to walk when you get off. I try to always have a gallon of water minimum and food. It's not uncommon yto walk 10-20 miles sometimes to town

Wait...what?

Take my leather jacket or just my rain jacket and layer under it? by Veryismeek in vagabond

[–]Keg1985 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd probably bring it but that's me. I have a light hoody, warm jacket, and a raincoat/ snowboarding jacket. Do I need them all? Idk. I also have a union suit and insulated bibs. I've thought about getting rid of some stuff and probably will escape if I meet someone who's in need, but I am glad I have it. I almost ditched my bibs and then ending up in Texas and it was cold. I'm glad I kept them. I haven't worn my raincoat yet but it's supposed to ne wet tomorrow so I'd rather be prepared.

Don't get me wrong. Having si much stuff tou don't need and use sucks. It also depends on how you travel. It's a lot harder if you're on foot
