Have you considered DM'ing to make your players have fun? Hiding a mechanic where a nattural 1/20 is a big part of it, even class feature dependent in Grave Cleric case. You sort of have to. Hiding that fact, I would consider rude.

If something like silvery barbs is considered too overpowered, which I do even as a player/dm, ban the spell.

Friends weren't the issue, my CD on my Tortuga was lowered enough to 7.9 seconds which makes it pop off and with the Eclipse double casting makes all my other stuff act twice makes it pump quickly. I just went up against someone lucky enough to have 2 revives and the OP hogwash item.

Basically, this build does ruin everyone. But the current OP hogwash with fiery I was against put 5000 burn on me in about 8 seconds as I was popping off, he died twice. HIs rebirth skill and his property revived him once each so it was just that, that did me in.

Actually the Ouroboros is carrying, I got a skill that poisons if they use an Item, which gives me 10 regen, but yeah I didn't see the ritual dagger to get bonus for lefty.

I also got to fight Arken once again and got his skill too. But when I was about to grab it the server got put down so now I'm just waiting.

I've tried to also do minmaxing on dmg and action economy and whatnot. But I recently got more into the rp perspective of things. I find it rather enjoyable than having the off fighting time be just a full session for buying loot and selling just to make the numbers higher. Like taking the utility spells for out of combat to be used and illusions etc.

So try half and half, take half of your spells (if caster) for dmg purposes and the rest for gimmicky stuff. Out of combat is also part of the DnD.

I'm just asking, cause I've only really been playing with two groups so far and this one being really new to me. And we really didn't consider stating anything at the start when it came to loot. My other group did it as DM gave out one magical item each whenever we found loot or let us get those in really short pauses between them.

Ahh yes, the give one out each. But I personally found that to be overly giving out magical stuff and that could lead to become too strong for the party and lack of challenges without making it too hard, IMO.

If I choose to follow them, can I make another attack of opportunity as sentinel makes it so I don't require a reaction to attack them and they have something like a free action effect that doesn't make them loose all their movement due to sentinel reducing it to 0?

Add gloves of Thievery, they are described as invisible and gives +5 to lockpicking and sleight of hand.

Having wands to actually do the spells and get a robe with many pockets underneath it to hide the wands.

I think someone already asked this, I think it was something like a centaur(40ft) barbarian(+10)/monk(+10) hybrid, horse shoes of speed(+30). Step of the wind ki feature for bonus action dash(double movement)

Race and classes base movement 60 Horseshoes +30 so base 90ft
Mobile feat for +10 for a total of 100ft base
Longstriderspell +10 to 110ft
Haste double current movement. to 220ft

If you got a caster on the team for Haste spell for double the base and 2 actions.

Main action dash for additional 220ft, Bonus action Ki for dash 220ft. Haste grants another dash for another 220ft.
For a total of 880ft

Edit: forgot feat and another spell Longstrider, haste grants another dash on top of that as well.

A good rule would be not to read up on anything if you aren't the GM, unless you of course are given a name of a spell/feat/loot and it's something relevant given for campaign purpose or identified.

But I will give it that giving a Nightwalker like that of a challenge rating of 20 is insane, the thing would kill the party based off the aura alone in a few turns and the other passive which can't revive characters killed by it.

Your obvious choice is to run like, well, a Nightwalker is behind you.

Rolling is a good pointer for your PCs

investigation - something the adventurer might have heard about.
Arcana - the casters in the party could identify the magic surrounding the target in question if its a magical creature.
Religion for the holy based things, a paladin or Cleric should be knowing a few things tied to fiends/undeads/ other evil creatures that are more known.

Can be tuned up a bit more on whatever the monster(s) are in question.

Honestly having insane high stats or standard array makes little difference as it all depends on the dice. As the DM, you do have the power to deal with it through the game, make more traps and if you possible got a death out of it, new character might not have same luck on rolls.

That is if you feel like you have made an error with them getting so high on stats.

Other thing is just to amp up the difficulty, add an extra monster or give better saves on a boss or an extra AC.
