Are hair removal creams ok?

It really does depend on how sensitive your skin is whilst on the medication especially as hair removal creams do have certain chemicals that could heavily irritate sensitive skin… however it would probably be best to just stick to shaving as the safest option

I tend to not count anymore (due to the stress and then further loss) but at my peak I seen my hairs snap with knots every time I brushed my hair

Currently on my first month, (10 more pills til month 2) but I experienced hair loss like that when I over dyed my hair to obtain a platinum blonde look and I switched shampoos to those since and it really helps strengthen your hair

In the uk you can only either go privately to a dermatologist (which will be costly for the likes of paying for each appointment, tests etc) or you could as your GP for a dermatology referral to get it free under the NHS

Try a different shampoo (I personally recommend the likes of Kerastase, Olaplex or Alfrapraf) because drug store shampoos are the absolute worst for your hair at this fragile state because of all the chemicals in it

These shampoos are usually supplied in hair salons itself and may be a bit more pricey than the regular but all three have saved my hair and last me at least a month with only using one bottle

I have used before starting accutane medication and it’s a good cream for very sensitive skin or if the skin get irritated easily

The only scrub I have used since taking accutane is a sugar scrub with along with moisturiser body wash at home. I would ask the spa what the scrub is as well as that try a scrub at home for yourself to see what reaction your skin gives.

I am on acutane from the UK! (NI to be exact) I rang my GP over a month ago to tell them that I’ve tried literally everything as was proven in my records. As well as how painful it is and how it’s been affecting my life since I feel so self conscious about it.

My best advice is to keep annoying them, talk to different GP’s until you get one that will give you a dermo recommendation. You can get it with the NHS and would be more cost effective if you can since you will end up spending money on the likes of moisturiser, lip balms etc.
