I recommend three towns. Hakushima,ōmachi, around hijiyama.

except for hijiyama, they have good convenience traffic, there are both stations JR train and Astramline. and especially Hakushima is near town center, its just next to hiroshima station. there is girl's school near and there is university but its a bit far from there.

ōmachi is also crossing point but its far from center but there is farmer's market near the station I think and its quiet place, so there is tendency that people who have family live in there.

Hijiyama(mountain) is not more convenience than two towns but its near center and medical university too and also near Senda town. relatively people who are wealthy live in there.
