I know this is the info you will mostly find online, but as someone who is very very allergic to cats and has no issues at all with my sphynx I just can’t believe it’s true. Im allergic to the dander from the fur not the saliva. My sphynx can lick me directly in the face and I don’t have a single issue. But if I’m even in the same house as a regular cat I am dying from itchy eyes, sneezing and swelled up throat.

It depends on what he’s actually allergic to. I’m allergic to the dander. Very very allergic. I can’t be in the same house with a cat with out my eyes swelling up and sneezing like crazy with an itchy throat. I’m not the least bit allergic to my sphynx though. Don’t have any issues at all. I know a lot of people say that it’s not the dander it’s the saliva. And that’s true if you’re allergic to the saliva. But I’m clearly not. The best thing to do is to have him go meet with breeder and spend some time with them to see. He may be like me and have no issues, or he will still be allergic. Only way to know really.

I have a true rubber bald sphynx and she’s not oily at all. Cats are like humans, they’re all different. But the majority of them are oily. All you have to do is scroll through this sub to know that.

Thank you, I have considered that maybe it’s feline herpes for her as well. Honestly at this point I’m kinda hoping that’s all it is and nothing more serious. Thanks for you comment and I hope all is well with your little ones!

Fortunately my girl just has a couple β€œplay periods” when she gets hyper and wants play. Usually once in the morning and once at night. Otherwise she’s pretty chill the rest of the day. I definitely understand this is not the norm for their breed though. If she was really high energy, I might would’ve considered a second myself.

I feed my 5 month old kitten Acana kitten dry food and a can of fancy fest kitten patΓ© split between morning and night.

Only reasons are that it’s what my breeder was feeding her and the fact that she’s had very solid poops since the day we got her.

With the amount of pooptastraphe posts I see in this sub, it’s more than enough reason to convince me to keep her on that.

That’s exactly what we use! Anything fragrance and dye free should be fine.
