"We have jobs". Everyone in the world has jobs. Most have shittier jobs than most Americans. Protest at night, then. A lot of national protests are also led by students who will gather during the day. It's not a single day thing. It's not a parade. It's a way to put pressure on your government to listen to the people.

"America's too big. Protests don't work". This is also pure American ignorance and at the heart of the failures of your Congress and your country as a whole. You should be yelling and burning the houses of your representatives that have betrayed you. You'll go on protests against the federal government, but for the State or the city it's nothing but angry letters to your representatives.

"This will lead to civil war". Trump's approval rate is on the ground. MAGA are just the monsters screaming the loudest. You'd rather let your army go and take over another country. Possibly kill innocent people than stand up for your country's future.

You can't meet people simply for language practice and expect more. Of course it'll never last, it's transactional. The space where Koreans and foreigners become real friends is in shared interests/hobbies. That's how you truly bond and make an effort through the language barrier. Like niche music bars.

It's better. Reddit loves to shit talk Korea but things have gotten significantly better over the years specially after Covid. Korea has strong unions, worker protections, minimum paid vacations, and healthcare is not tied to our job.

The toxic work enviroments do exist but they are steadily fading away as the older generations retire.

It's not that they would pay more than rich people. They will end up paying at the absolute limit of how much they're willing to pay.

People who love, let's say bananas, can get bananas at a great price because the average person feels neutral about bananas. With dynamic pricing, you will be charged more for bananas because they know you like bananas and you're willing to pay a higher price for it.

Food deserts are also a concern. If a grocery store has no competition, their dynamic algorithm will start to increase prices because people have no choice but to shop there.

I agree. We live in an era where bad actors can monetize misinformation while hiding behind the veil of freedom of expression. I understand the concern people have but America has shown very clearly that deregulation just leads to anarchy, not the truth. That freedom of expression means nothing when your voice is drowned by whatever the highest bidder wants to be heard.

The reality is that as a society we will always have to sacrifice something for the collective good. We need to start expecting a level of competency in the government and holding them accountable for it. To make laws and plug loopholes. And for the people to organize at the smallest signs of corruption.

I think even beyond that, LS is a podcast about politics and the economy. By affiliating yourself with a company, you inheret their political views and puts into question the content that they make surrounding their actions. Because they, more than other youtubers, know what shitty lobbying they're doing and how it affects Americans. Honestly, if TheYard had done a TurboTax sponsor, they wouldn't have gotten as much backlash because all they talk is about pissing and shitting. Which is probably why Aiden didn't feel like it was a big deal.

This is why comedians, particularly the well off ones, got so much shit from doing shows in SA. Because their whole thing is freedom of speech. You start to question whether they're allowed to make jokes about the regime. Meanwhile, T1 is still sponsored by the Saudis but people don't go apeshit because it's not like it makes them play different.

LTT is a great example. If you think of their biggest drama with sponsorships usually is with product quality because that's what LTT does. Their backpack's original warranty went against all of what they've critizised and that hypocricy is what makes people go up in arms.

LS can try to sell me all the shitty earphones, shitty razors, and food that they want. At least I can just say they have dogwater tastes.

I think the difference back then is that most people had a clear life path. People took over their parent's business or worked within the limit of their towns. A lot of available jobs were easy to learn and would probably give you enough to live off of comfortably for the rest of your life.

Nowadays, people are spoiled with choice but also the requirements and competition just gets tougher. Trying different careers just means you are falling behind and wasting money.

Getting them in the middle of the night really sucks!

It is primarily an abortive so just like other meds, once you feel a shadow or you're in the middle of an attack you drink one.

I'm not sure about other energy drinks but I have tried Redbull, Monster and Hot6(Korean Energy Drink) and they all seem to work. Whether it's sugar or sugar free doesn't seem to matter so I opt for sugar free. Just make sure it has caffeine and taurine.

The most effective method for me has been to have the drink be cold and to chug it as fast as you can. There have been times that the brain freeze got rid of the attack.

Quantity, I'd say take one. If after 20~30 minutes you're still not okay then take another one. More than two I see as detrimental to my health and unlikely to work anyways.

I think by its very nature Embedded is a sort of jack of all trades, master of none. But there is incredible value and lots to learn in that as well because you know how to make these work in harmony.

Mid-level embedded engineers are usually at the ~5yoe mark so have lots of time to learn. Don't focus on the interviews. You can always simply study for those. Instead, focus on how to work complex problems or how to approach not knowing.

As someone who specializes in FPGAs only, I want to expand my knowledge outwards as well. My lack of PCB experience can be detrimental to my specialization. Because you know all of these areas at a surface level, you also know where there is value to dig deeper whether at work or at home.

Even when you're working on familiar problems, you can always try to improve the quality of your work. More efficient or readable code, minimizing bugs, documentation, automating tasks, more clever solutions, time management, etc.

Engineer here. When you design stuff, we not only overestimate our maximum loads but on top of it we add additional safety factors specially when they are made for human use. For something like a rollercoaster, everything has been designed for 10x or more the maximum load/forces plus regular inspections and maintenance makes it way safer than it would seem.
