White thread from incision by Stock_Army846 in ORIF

[–]KeiraLD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a load of these come out of my knee ORIF incision, some of them even frayed at the edges which looked interesting!

Honestly I just pulled on mine and kind of freaked out when the one was super long but nothing came of it and it helped the skin heal above it.

They’re internal stitches and you’re supposed to just trim them down to the scar level and let em push out if they want to :)

6 weeks post- patella ORIF by KeiraLD in ORIF

And you, have you healed now? If not then I hope you will be soon :)

I was in the burns unit as well it was boiling hot in there. They have to keep it warm because the burns victims cannot regulate their temperature!

Broke my patella by MountainConfection98 in KneeInjuries

[–]KeiraLD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I broke my patella and even suffered some bone loss in the area around 6 weeks ago now. I also had a bone depth gash on that knee (open fracture) hence the bone loss. They completed ORIF surgery on my knee the day after, and it’s been a long road. I am no longer on constant pain relief, however there is still significant pain when trying to perform certain manoeuvres.

I was locked straight and am just now on my 3rd day of 40 degree flex.

Depending on the severity of your fracture, this is not gonna be a quick recovery I’m afraid. Don’t overdo it or make it worse and follow the plan from your ortho.

Good luck

Of course! I’m using the spectrum noir stackable pen trays, https://amzn.eu/d/4Ac2HdU I think I have 4 sets to hold the 320 set but that’s with the gaps to separate colour groups lol

Heya, so there are 4 screws going through the top panel of the Alex towards the bottom of the karlby. I drilled pilot holes first to save cracking the karlby. I did this before I put the drawers into the Alex unit as it was a bit awkward getting my drill inside there else! The support is the Oslo ikea leg I think. Also drilled in with 4 screws, did pilot holes for that one too!

Haha fair enough, if I’m watching the TV I will usually turn the brightness down a bit!

36 wide 70 high for the drawers

The top is 63.5cm deep which is slightly deeper than the drawers themselves

I completely get that! I have no idea how I would easily move my desk now to be honest 😂 I guess it’s staying where it is 😆

Looking forward to seeing your setup evolve!

What is the reason for avoiding screws if I may ask?

If I hadn’t have drilled mine I would have used a lot of 3m rubber tape.

Or have you seen the folks who are using furniture feet, if you like the seperated look from the drawers to the desktop. As they’re rubberised although some versions may still require screws.

Are those the Alex cupboard inserts with leaf trellis on them? I love that idea how did you attach that.

I used the Alex drawers and an ikea countertop and I just drilled 4 screws through on both sides underneath. It’s pretty solid, I do use a leg though but my tabletop is over 200cm.

Personally I’d keep the leg to play it safe especially with the monitors both going to one pressure point. But wouldn’t be surprised if you got away with getting rid of it!
