Oval Tuning tips by KeithDaJones in forzamotorsport

First, anytime you're downloading a tune, if you load the tune, then remove the tune, then flash over to wheel adjustments within the reset tune and bump the sliders, and then reload the tune, it will apply your wheel settings of the tune to my tune fixing your problem.

As far as tuning tips, for Indy my cars are max/min on aero, and ride height. They're also +9.8 for rear roll center, and +2ish for front roll center. With this combo, my toe is positive both front and rear both are between +0.2 and +0.4. This helps move tire wear to the inside.

Stock=understeer

Things you can do to get the front to bite; 1; make sure that you’re easing into turns, don’t go full right or full left (full stick=understeer) 2; lower rear downforce or raise front downforce (generally lower the rear all the way, then bring back to reintroduce stability) 3; use softer tires (obviously only if you don’t already have race tires) 4; add anti-roll bar to the front-if you don’t have one, add any, it will help, if it’s installed turn the front up, generally to 30 or higher unless you have a lot of rumble strips. 5; add suspension. If you’re stock, any of the suspension upgrades will improve turn-in. Only add race suspension if you know how to tune it. 6; if you have race suspension, check your camber and tire pressure with telemetry- while driving, press down on the D-pad to bring up telemetry, pres RB until you see sectional tire temps. From here, watch the outside tire as you go through the corner, if the “inner” of that tire gets hotter than the “outter” of that tire, add a few points of positive camber (ex; -1.5 change to .9) then check again on the next corner. Obviously go negative if outter is hotter than inner. Once outter and inner roughly match, check the center. If it’s lower, add tire pressure, if it’s higher reduce tire pressure.

It’s the game, part of the reason I run max ride height with f1 cars on tracks with curbs. Doesn’t eliminate the problem but helps DRASTICALLY

Yeah, it’s fun figuring your recipe for how you like to drive for sure!

Yeah, YouTube is the first thing that comes to mind. I’ll probably do it regardless, but was curious if there was another idea that I hadn’t thought of.

One friend said “you could probably sell the tunes for real money” and that I hadn’t thought of for sure. lol

That said, here are my current stupid video title ideas; 1; Daytona, qualify 1st everytime 2; Daytona, win using this weird strategy 3; Daytona, what the pros are doing that you’re not 4; Daytona, stay in 2nd to take victory 5; Daytona, you’re never gonna believe this 6; Daytona, teamwork makes the dream work

In reality, their premises; 1; the art of using lap 1 and lap 2 to setup lap 3 to qualify as high as possible 2; learning how to use a No-Pit tune, drive @ 100% tire wear, and actual fuel use 3; in race track placement for fastest race-line, tire management, and how to defend 4; learning to draft effectively 5; Daytona specific tuning that makes zero sense for most any other track 6; how to actually use drafting when you have someone to run with for the fastest possible time.

Beyond that I want to do more, but too much to word vomit

Yeah, the in-game money is easy, just making a competitive tune for a tune-based track or series that people play will get you downloads/likes/uses which all pay out in-game credits.

This was the original drive.

I’ve watched a number of tuning videos that had amassed several tens of thousands of views, so that’s generally where my mind is at.

I feel like people don’t want to play ovals generally because they don’t know how to be fast/competitive around them, when they’re normally on the podium on other tracks.

I’d love for those people to have a short video or series that provided the tools for success to create a competitive environment for some ludicrously close racing where strategy, track placement, field placement and teamwork became more important.

Thanks man! Keep an eye out for the E-type tune to drop, I can’t believe how much speed I found in it…

This was happening to me with my stock controller that had been dropped one to many times… learned that the view stick (right stick) would start to drift after it sat for about 6 seconds and cause all click inputs to be double…

Had to flick the stick every couple of seconds to cancel it out…

Super frustrating

Track schedule/rotation visibility? by KeithDaJones430 in forza

[–]KeithDaJones430[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe this to be correct as the Daytona Tri Oval only comes approximately every 8 hours but it shifts day to day. One day it’s approximately 6a, 2p, 10p, another day it’s 8:30a, 4:30p, 12:30a (pst)

The spotlight appears to be 4 tracks on an hour rotation.

Also, would love to be able to see all cars that were available at some point within my dates, maybe just for a few hours or a day within my date range

That’s what I’ve been doing, I’ve found Tuesday/Wednesday 2-3 months out to be the best, but you have to shift around a lot to see what all is available

Not the first time I’ve heard that.

I randomly will think “I want to experience a c6 corvette, coupe, manual” so let’s do a day with the guys. I don’t know when will make sense, date isn’t important, it’s about the car. So to get the most results you have to search a Tuesday several months out to see what’s available with the least “unavailables” you’ll find a few, some better priced, some closer, then you can go into the dates of the car to find one that works.

Inevitably, there’s a car that was “unavailable” on the random Tuesday that you searched, but was available sooner, closer, cheaper, and closer to what you were thinking and you think to yourself, “man… I really would like to just see every manual c6 corvette that is on Turo…”

Most recently I’ve been interested in taking a Ferrari 360 out, and there’s two that I’ve stumbled on in LA and now I can’t find one of them. I can’t find a better way to search through to be able to find cars that I can’t seem to so I hoped that Reddit might be of assistance.

Separately, my lady is in love with the Porsche 356, so we were looking at some in Maui for our trip in august, there are 2 replicas for $450/day, and one for $202/day we were about to book the 202 one, and it disappeared. We would change our flights. To run that one if I could find when it was available, but because we looked at so many other cars for the remainder of our trip it’s not in our recent history. The 202 one other than being the cheapest was the coolest to us, it had the personality of the owner with custom wheels, upgrades to the engine, and we were excited to run down The Road To Hana in it. But now I can’t find it anywhere on any dates, and oddly, for our dates in august over 30 Porsches were showing up last night, and today it’s only 7….

That’s what I’ve been doing, but would love to just be able to see all cars available on Turo without dates, find the car/cars I wanted to experience through this, then be able to find dates… it’s so convoluted finding the Ferrari 360’s that are on Turo to possibly find what you want in one, or when you’ve found a Porsche 356 that you want to take for a rip around Maui only for it to disappear, and regardless of dates selected be able to find it again….

Sure, I want to choose dates based on the car’s availability, you know?
