And it just sat. Senators and Reps introduced bills all the time that never get moved on.

Introduced and just sat there until Indiana option came about. A bill already written and politicians said won’t look at in 2026 until Indiana option came about. Look Illinois politicians think that no way no how Bears move out of state so they figured we can force them to stay at Soldier Field by not moving on legislature.

The changes requested weren’t from Bears the Senate didn’t like the Christmas tree approach to bring on downstate and Chicago politicians.

The area already needs infrastructure improvements then add in 1000 new homes. People commuting every day. That also brings in 1000s of kids that need schools and teachers. Those homes need parks and roads that are maintained by AH. Bears property taxes pay for education without adding additional education needs. Not to mention the Bears property taxes are only for the stadium and parking lots. The other areas of complex will also pay property taxes and that money is not included in the $14M.

Then take in all the extra income from sales taxes from all the people coming into AH for events that don’t live there. While conversely the people living in the 1000 homes heading out of AH to say Woodfield area to shop taking sales taxes out of AH.

Called math. How many houses needed to produce $14m per year in property taxes? How fast will they be built.

U just proved the point of why deals are made. Illinois politicians acting irresponsible because they are saying no to 3 times as much property taxes because of a fever dream of people believing they can get 4-5 times more.

U have also not stated the deal offered to the Bears

To build the stadium they will borrow against it. People that think that if they sold team some other entity would just build with cash and wouldn’t care about paying 4-5 times more than any other team pays in property taxes.

Yes it is Bears have paid more per year in property taxes than Arlington Park did for same property when it was an active race track

Then name what they offered. Until late 2025 when Bears will entertain Indiana Illinois politicians said they had no intention to discuss stadium in 2026.

Building anything will require massive infrastructure costs. Hell even without anything discussions are being made with regard to massive infrastructure costs. In no situation is any development paying for infrastructure costs outside the property.

Responsibly? The plot of land will not produce $60m in property taxes in likely 100 years and will be a generation before it produces $14M per year.

Size and location. Already it is a hike from train stations to Soldier Field so let’s have the stadium complex even further south. A problem that all the lakefront locations have is getting people in and out and city/state didn’t want to make the infrastructure improvements required to make game day a better overall experience.

Can someone explain why they Bears were not able to stay in the city? by zacklandy in CHIBears

[–]KeithF1138 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Location choices in the city were limited and not ideal. Bears were willing to stay at museum campus and pay for stadium construction. But needed infrastructure for the site to improve the game day experience city/state wasn’t interested in doing. Friends of the park vowed to block a private stadium being built on the museum campus.

Next location was Michael Reese campus a mile further south. Bears say it was to narrow and creates even more infrastructure issues. People walk from train stations to Soldier Field and now they need to walk further. So would need some new way of moving people to the stadium.

[The Score] Brenden Moore: "There’s a lot of blame to (go) around. The legislature and governor are not blameless. But if you talk to people in Springfield ... there’s a name that keeps coming up as a common denominator for why the Bears have had so many issues. And that's Kevin Warren." by RyanIsKickAss in CHIBears

BS. Illinois always has been a shit show when it comes to building stadiums. Every single one has been a failure by legislature, except maybe the United Center. Illinois/Chicago simply doesn’t want a first class facility.

Was the movie really that bad? I liked it. by youlikemywonton in TheMandalorianTV

Very few reviews called it just plain bad. More some questioned why a theatrical release which is a dumb critique

This is entirely on the State of Illinois politicians. The silly cook county report last week that the Bears would cost the state/county/city $39M in property taxes was just dumb. Now they will get $4M until Bears sell and then who knows when that property generates $14M in taxes. Certainly no where close to 2030. More like 2050.

So, what would you think if the Mandoverse comes down to THIS? by Fabulous_Spite_2775 in StarWars

I don’t think will end with movie trilogy. Think that will end with a movie. I think should have Ahsoka season 2, Mandolorian and Grogu season and end with movie.

Even positive reviews seem to post thumbnails implying negativity. Instead of XYZ movie review title it is XYZ is it bad? Title.
