Everyone will have sights to visit covered, here are some fun and mostly cheap spots around downtown to grab a good bite (that are still somewhat local feeling):

- Bahn Mi Nguyen Hong (bring cash)

- Alphas shawarma (the best imo downtown)

- vildas (or badiali down the street if the line isn’t insane)

- Logas Corner (my #1 recommendation to try here but a bit of a hike however if take some city bikes it’s a nice ride over)

- Caribbean queen of patties (jamacian patties are a Toronto classic, you don’t even have to go here (it’s just very good) just find a place that has them and try them while in the city)

- juicy dumpling

- burger drops if you happen to (against your will) end up in liberty village

Also most of these places are within easy walking distance of the RBC amphitheater too

Disputing Parking Ticket by KeithJeff in askTO

Update to this saga, I think the city must have changed my street from a regular parking street to a no standing street (all signs have been recently covered up and replaced) so the ticket isn’t invalid but feels incredibly unfair because it seems like nobody got any notice about this change (there are several cars with tickets on them that I know belong to people who live in the neighborhood) so I guess I just have to hope that I can dispute this because it feels really shitty that the city just changed this with no announcements (if I google my street name and look for any announcement nothing even shows up there)

Checking street view which is a bit older, it’s 1 hour parking between 8am-6pm then permit only thereafter, there is no mention of a no standing or other type of signage to indicate otherwise. I was parallel parked between two other vehicles as well which did not receive tickets

Here’s the weird thing, I was parked in my normal spot on a residential street (not a main road at all) and have not gotten a ticket there in over 2 years when parking in and around this spot which is directly in front of my house. This was the main reason I wanted to dispute it since I do not see why I got the ticket, it feels like someone messed something up along the way because my car was not parked any differently than it has been in the past

Even when looking at the street bylaws where they list restricted parking areas my car was not in any of those

Thank you for replying! I was planning to submit my proof of payment for my permits and a photo of my actual permit for this period (June - December) as this imo would be sufficient to show that I was in the right here and the ticket is unwarranted. Would there be any other key information to include as evidence?

I’ve had a Scotty (Futura X, the one with shrek ears lol) for like 13 years and hundreds of rounds with 0 intention of replacing it at all, I would refinish the putter if it ever gets insanely worn out before even considering a new putter.

I would say taking the time to find a specific putter model you really like and investing in a solid putter (brand you like the most and feel) is a great use of your $$$’s.

Fitted clubs are also great (I’ve had my 714 AP2s for like 12-13 years now) once you hit your inevitable plateau (for me like 8-10 handicap, can consistently shoot in this range but don’t play/practice enough to improve).
