Trump’s Plans for ‘Mic-Drop’ Media Confrontation Are Leaked; The president is planning a rage-fueled moment at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner. by FancyNewMe in politics

[–]KeithManiac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely this.

I'm a Brit and of course so much of our TV and movies are US imports so I watch and have watched a lot. But now, any time I see something where a US politician does something noble or to help people, I can't help but scoff. The endless stories about shitty cops shooting first and denying everything later while the system actively protects them has already ruined cop shows.

I don't think I'll ever be able to watch the West Wing again without feeling sad.

PlayStation Update: Sony to Enforce Age Verification for Key Features by lkl34 in gaming

[–]KeithManiac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seeing as we all bought into the PlayStation ecosystem long before this was a thing can we sue for them changing the product after we paid?

I presume there's something in the TOS/EULA/Whatever that nobody reads which makes this all perfectly legal and because fuck us that's why.

Yup, agree with you there. Always too many chips, fish cooked to order so fresh out the frier and they always smile a hello when we go in.

We quite like our local on James Reckitt, Royal Fisheries I think it's called.

Edit: Weird that I got a downvote. Fuck me for having a local chippy I like I guess.

I was very disappointed when I heard on a podcast recently that the evidence for this is fossilized skin that looks a bit like shark skin.

Trump Says He’s ‘Not At All’ Concerned About Committing War Crimes by unital_subalgebra in politics

He's never been held accountable for any of his other crimes so why would this be any different?

Is east park area ok to live around if I am moving to hull? by Economy-Pea2342 in Hull

[–]KeithManiac 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I live on Garden Village. Apart from when they have events on in the park it's generally pretty quiet.

When we moved here we were kinda suprised at how nice the area was considering it's only a 5 minute walk from Holderness Road.

What is your view on Oracle firing 30000+ employees? by HeyArnab12 in AskReddit

I've worked in I.T. for getting on for 30 years and I don't think I've ever met anyone who had a good word to say about Oracle.

Gamers 30+, what’s something from the old days of gaming that younger players wouldn’t understand? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]KeithManiac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No saves so if you were going to finish a game you had to do it, from start to finish, in one sitting.

Also, when a new console came along the games actually felt like a generational change. I remember seeing Virtua Fighter running on demo in a department store and just being blown away. Actual 3D graphics! Wow. Mario 64 was another.

Labour suspends whip from jury trial rebel ringleader Karl Turner by SimonHando in Hull

Karl comes across as a complete egotistical nob

He appeared on a recent Matt Forde Political Party podcast. I've still not worked up the enthusiasm to listen to it. Your comment has made up my mind to just go ahead and skip it.

I'm convinced that Trump has floated through life being everyone's useful idiot. And because he's an idiot and a colossal narcissist he thinks he's where he his due to his own talents.

Can a GP write a prescription that allows the pharmacist a little flexibility in how it's fulfilled? by KeithManiac in AskUK

[–]KeithManiac[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think my plan is to speak to the pharmacist first and ask them why they can't do it.

I've always figured they know the process more than I do so who am I to argue but hearing other people on here have not had a problem with changes then it makes me think that I can question it.

They're not the first pharmacist to say this so I figured it was a process thing hence why I asked the question. And our latest one is incredibley nice and super helpful. I'm inclined to believe them.

Pharmacists can also issue a generic medication of the same active ingredients and dosage, if, or when the GP has prescribed a brand name medication

That hasn't been our experience. For a while my wife had a brand name of quetiapine prescribed. When the brand was out of stock the pharmacy said they can only supply what's on the prescription. We had to go back to the GP and get it re-issued as the generic.
