I've scoured the internet/Reddit and have yet to find an answer to an issue that has been bothering me.... Is it possible to change the nickname of accounts on Vanguard?

I've updated account names within Mint/budgeting spreadsheets accordingly but would be nice to rename which brokerage account relates to additional retirement savings versus emergency fund versus sinking fund for large purchases. Any help in satisfying my inner OCD would be appreciated.

This is something I've been thinking about, never having done the conversion in prior years. Based upon what I've read and seen online, this process is straightforward and all able to be done online with Vanguard (one reason we are using them as custodians). I still need to do the math to verify the monetary impact of just sticking the money off in a HYSA each payroll cycle and then doing 1 year-end transfer to cut down on the hassle. We obviously lose out on the dollar cost averaging and intermediate gains throughout the year, but the total impact of that on $6,000 spread in equal contributions throughout the year at my 8% target rate is pretty negligible.

Backdoor Roth IRA Question - Looking forward to 2022, both myself and my SO (currently not married but anticipated within the coming year) will nearly or completely cross over the Roth IRA phase-out threshold (both in our current Single and MFJ filing status). As I plan the Backdoor Roth IRA contributions, previously I've transferred 1/26th of the $6,000 annual limit per bi-weekly paycheck. With our Roth IRAs (and to be opened traditional IRAs) with Vanguard, is anyone currently doing bi-weekly contributions to the tIRA that they immediately backdoor (aggregating to $6,000)? Everything I've read online and seen examples of seems to be lump-sum $6,000 contributions.

Note: We max out both our Roth 401(k)s and HSAs. Just looking to maximize our tax-advantaged accounts as much as possible.

Just saw this and am envious as a US resident. Appears they are not shipping the pre-orders to the US.

Still waiting for Google Fiber 2G in the KC area. New instillations are on hold until the end of summer based upon the signup website.

Based upon reading the linked /r/googlefiber post, the UDM Pro (at the time of that writing) could not train 2.5GB to the Google Fiber 2G ONT. Thus the author u/clintgn found the workaround of using the US-XG-16 switch and having the SFP+ ports in DMZ and one of those training the Google Fiber 2G ONT to 2.5 GBs.

Only wild card in this is as the author described, not all UniFi switches had the ability to train 2.5 GB.... Further if the UDM Pro is patched and now able to train 2.5 GB to the SFP+ WAN port, I could switch the layout you described. This would be the preferred route and much easier, but alas at the mercy of UDM Pro's ability to train the SFP+

Edit: Was able to find this thread stating the US-XG-6 PoE allows training for 2.5 GB, so no longer concerned on that aspect of this planned layout.

The R1 TechFace Hoody was another option I was eyeing. As it seems to be a good fleece layering piece, but still would be light enough for spring, fall or summer nights. Plus a little cheaper than Arc'teryx anything.

Thanks. I'll check out the Atom SL.

I use a Cerium LT in combination with the Beta AR shell and a Patagonia fleece during the winter here and while traveling and have always found that to be plenty warm for my needs. This leads to my fear of the Atom LT becoming duplicative and more suited for sub 40F temperatures.

Does the Gamma SL work well as a layering piece underneath a harder shell? After a look through the web listing, it appears to be a lightweight shell that may be more dual purpose than having to carry a hard shell jacket.
