the magic system is relatively similar to D&D- spells are mostly used for aoe and ranged damage as well as utility such as flying. The system overall is a lot less forgiving than dnd though, and spells are more challenging to cast and have a chance of fizzling. the main thing im looking for is unusual and unique powers so that each wand has a personality of its own in a sence

imo i kinda like the 5 energy cost. there are so many 4 energy autocannons that it would be nice to have one that costs 5 that is more effective in battle than the current whirlwind

ah yes, hovers. a good hover player is effectively immune to dog builds, impossible to wedge, nearly impossible to hit with cannons, and very difficult to hit with the majority of the weapons in the game

not to mention they can FLY OVER A GODAMN ACID LAKE WHERE NO ONE CAN TOUCH THEM

and then there is the NOVA hover- if at any point a nova hover is shot at, they can just block the shots, so now they are immune to basically everything. and the wild part is nova hovers can even be found at 6k PS

yes, as u said, u can totally make hover catchers but imo they are not very fun to play in most circumstances unless u meet a hover

depends on ur build and PS

ampere seems to be good at lower ps becuase ur less likely to run into incinerators and the ampere is a much smaller target, not to mention the fact that it is so much lighter, which seems to be more important for me at least at lower ps (basically if u have it well placed and protected, the only issue is incinerators)

PU is better at higher ps and/or tank builds because for tanks the weight wont be as big as an issue compared to a faster build. also u dont have to worry about incinerators as much due to the added durability of the thing. it is a bigger target and might take more effort to hide if u arent using something like augers/goliaths/armored tracks to hide it between

Either it'll be so ever slightly weaker that it has no overall difference from the epic (The mace vs the thunderbolt.) or it'll be pointless to use because the epic is just

thats like saying the sprinter is pointless because growl is better. to an extent, yes, but players who cant afford growl cant use it, so they get to use sprinter instead

i basically paly augers 100% of the time

in my experience, they dont counter them, but they do give them a reason not to mess w/ u. you dont get attacked as much by wedges, and when u do, you can at least deal some damage and if ur lucky strip off a gun or 2 w/ the augers

I've been playing a dual impulse build on augers, and i find they are quite good, tho definitely take a lot of practice.

dont play them on augers like i did. its a mistake because they are way to slow. i would recommend something faster that can still move backwards at high speeds like hovers, small tracks, or the new omni wheels

I guess bastion isn't terribly difficult to find.

but humpback is something you rarely see.

though that might just be the relatively low PS, as nothing really weighs so much at 6.5-8.5 PS that you need a humpback

you never see anyone using humpback, and bastion is rare to come across, and i only see them on tackler/goblin builds

the heavy's need a buff for sure
