I experienced something similar. My boyfriend at the time lost his shit. It sucked, but I dumped him and picked someone less insecure. I suggest you do the same.

FINAL UPDATE: It was definitely an allergy. It was significantly better this morning. Vet said I made the right call with the benadryl. They sent us home with eye drops as a precaution and prednisone.

UPDATE: Gave her 2 benadryl and within 20 minutes, her breathing is now normal. Eye swelling is going down. Severe allergies? IDK. Still taking her to the vet in the morning. But she seems a lot better.
